The Steering wheel on the our 07 X2 has like hard water spots, or something on the metal. Anybody know what type of metal the steering wheels are made of, and any advice on how to polish out the water spots?

I will post a picture in a second.

Any good metal polish will do, such as Brasso, or one of the polishes that has the wadding already in the can. I use aluminum truck box cleaner & polish that I get from Lowes. Works great and its easy too.

Simple test, very small amount of wax on a rag, if black comes off on the rag, bare metal, if no black, clear coated!
