Hey all. Just took the boat out today and I am have an issue. The boat (88 190) won't get above 37 mph. I have it narrowed down to three things and need some help.
1) I changed the oil last week and took out around 4 qts and put back in 4.5
2) Switched to EI this winter and adjusted the timing on accident and think I may need to retime and need help doing this.
3) Deep cleaned everything and got a little careless around the dash and may have bumped the speedos. Hopefully not both though Right?

I have no idea the rpm's I was running. Engine sounded good and know that the secondaries kicked in on the carb.

thanks for any advice in advance.

1: Oil, no I don't think that would make a difference.
2: Electronic Ignition and timing out of wack: I bet this is it!
3: Speedometers off: Hard to get both off the same.

What is the tach reading?
At speed it 37 mph shoyuld be right around 3700.

hand held gps would rule out the speedo

My boat will run 50 mph @ 2000 rpm if I turn the speedos up. Check them and adjust them with a GPS or with a stopwatch in a correct slalom course, using the times pictured,
