View Full Version : Ski pylon

Anyone have trouble with their ski pylon getting loose? Mine has a good bit of play in it when pulling a slalom skiier. I've tried tightening the U-bolts as best I can. Although they are tough to get to, I've tightened them until they feel really tight. Any suggestions, the pylon was pulled out once by someone else, any way that it could have been put back in wrong?

What model/year of boat are you having this problem with?

His profile states he owns a 1992 Prosport 205. Hopefully someone can help him.

I seem to have a loose one as well. oNly noticable when the skylon is on though. The movement isnt bow to stern but rather left to rightt, is there anyway to solve this. The u bolts underneath seem to be tight. Dont mean to jack your thread but, was wondering the same question.

I see this on other ski boats with names that start with M. Their dealer tells them it's normal. Mine is solid as a rock, maybe I don't pull hard enough!

The pylon on my '89 Prostar was loose when I purchased it. I had to tighten the bolts holding the pylon crossmember to the stringers. A little hard to get a wrench in there but it solved the problem.
