i have a 1987 ps190 with a ford 351, the problem is after 35 to 45 minutes of run time the boat starts to power surge and becomes unusable, i have to let it sit on the lift until the next morning and it runs great again for 35 to 45 minutes. i replace the holly carb, cleaned the fuel tank and blew out the fuel line replace all the fuel filters. replaced the coil. gave it a full tuneup. i hope someone can tell me what the problem could be??

do i have to pull the heads and replace the gaskets???? could it be something with the ignition?? how could i check it out??

Moisture under the distributor cap? Have you switched to breakerless ignition?

If nothing else, dry out the distributor cap and spray the inside and the points with silicone. Otherwise change over to this, Item#13212, #1230 and a new distributor cap and rotor button, http://www.skidim.com/products.asp?dept=1113

Do you have ANY water in the bilge under the engine?
Water + heat = evaporation = humidity = rust, corrosion, moisture intrusion + condensation, where and when you expect it least.

Any update? I'd bet it is moisture under your cap. Spend the $99 and get breakerless ignition.
