I want to learn to foot backwords... what's the best way to go about doing this? learning the back deep and then slowly building up untill i know how to get up and ski backwords, or should I try a front to back and just take the beating and make adjustment untill I get it?
how did you learn? what where your experiences? any good stories??

spend the money and go see Kieth St Onge. your body will love you for it. If you are a solid front footer start backward with shoe skis first. the hardest part is waiting on the boat to get to speed after you plant your feet.shoes let you plant and ski at very slow speed eliminating the scorpion, head aches, blured vision, neck pain and other more perminate dammages. Keep footin!

I asked this question in there and got no response. Plus i've read every post in that thread and it still hasn't answered my question.

infact, if it weren't for this dang dry summer our yard would be the best looking yard in our subdevision. unfortunatly the sun owned the grass this year and theres no green grass in the entire subdevision! lol...
okay anyway. Yeah, well I really need some money to come in, and I havn't gotten any web development jobs latly so money is running REALLLLLy tight -.-

My dad always used a backwards ski, tricky to get up and stay up, but that is an easier way.

Yeah. I'm ganna have to grab a trick ski from a buddy or something. That's a great idea! I never thought of that.
You don't want to try and learn BBF off a back step ski. Do you want to learn to get up backwards, ski backwards at 42, and then learn a step off, oh yes, and then learn to BBF. You could come up forward and spend all summer learning a flip turn and then start all of the above listed again. I can promise you you will be frusterated with just the flip turn and don't even go into the neck issues from doing backhandsprings. Get a boom and learn back deeps! You body will think me later!

Keith and I met when I got my tristar. He wanted to see if the tristar was everything it was rumored to be and wanted to foot behind my boat. Only problem, wally was coming STRAIGHT at me and kept turning back and forth.

kaser,
one thing i have learned during my introduction to backwards barefooting is slllooowww pace with learning, take your time because once you are up its a great time but the falls with hurt, here are a couple of examples.

it hurts for a bit but the pain goes away to keep trying...not too many people in my neck of the woods can say they barefoot backwards, so the crashes are worth every ounce of pain

We have 3 of 'em down here in Winter Haven, Fl. aka
(The Barefoot Capital of The World) run by World PRO's
Listed in no particular order ...
The Footer's Edge Training Center - World Barefoot Champion Lane "Dawg" Bowers
Keith St. Onge's Barefoot Ski School - Instruction by World Overall Champion and World Record Holder Keith St. Onge.
Ron Scarpa WatersportsHopefully, I'll see you and anyone else foot'n soon behind my boat when you come to visit after learning from one of the PRO's above ...
