Boating :) I have a 2007 X1 and this weekend at the lake we were wakesurfing when the bilge pump came on automatically. At first I thought we maybe had just taken on too much water however shortly after that an alarm went signaling the engine was overheating. After inspecting the engine compartment I discovered the coolant hose that connects the impeller to the engine had disconnected. So I was able to reconnect it and the boat seems to run fine however the check engine light keeps coming on. My question is once the alarm is tripped do I need to take it back to the dealership to get it reset or is there something else potentially wrong? Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

You need to take it to the dealer to have the code cleared, and make sure there aren't any new codes now.
