After the talk of posting older WSM boat buyer's guides online, I started to think it might be helpful to post some of the old manuals, too. I'm sure it would be easier for MC to refer people to the download section than to copy and mail a manual every time someone requests it.
With that in mind, I spent a couple of hours last night scanning in my photocopied 1991--1993 Prostar Owner's manual. It has been ripped to a rather large (44 pages @ 11.8 mb) .pdf document. Apart from a few just slightly crooked pages, it looks very good.
Unfortunately, zipped, it is still large (11.3 mb). I don't know if I could email something this large or not. Does anyone know how to downsample in Adobe writer? If I could get it to half the size, it'd probably be easier to email. Nonetheless, I'd be happy to email it to TT Admin if he would like to upload it to the DL section of the board.

I don't have an acrobat writer, but I've been meaning to get one, and I'll try to remember to scan in my 1984 manual once I do. The Mastercraft manual was pretty basic. But the engine manual I got from SkiDIM was pretty good. I'm pretty sure they have engine/tranny manuals for just about everyboat out there.

Scott, I don't think these manuals have changed too much over the years apart from the boat specs. Between your manual and mine, we'd probably have the 80s and early 90s covered. I just emailed TTAdmin about emailing/uploading it.
If you like, you can photocopy and mail it to me. My wife has a fast feed copier/scanner at her office and can scan it in a matter of minutes.

I have the original manual for my '88. I can scan it but I don't have Adobe writer to make it a pdf. I will photocopy it on Monday and then mail it to you Tex.

That's exactly what I'm suggesting. I'm ready to email it to TTAdmin whenever he'd ready. I've emailed him about it already and am waiting to hear back.

I have the original manual for the 98 prostar. I can scan it. It is about 80 pages. I am guessing that no one wants the safety and rules of the road type sections am I correct?

I doubt they've changed much since 93. They're included in mine. I may have access to a photocopied 98 manual through my father-in-law. I'll check with him.

That is a nice boat JT.
Let us know when TT will have them. I'm in for a 1990 ProStar 190.

Doug,
I'm not going to be near my manual for the next couple of weeks, but I'll try to remember to make a copy of it and send it to you when I get a chance. (we aren't going to run into copyright issues here are we? In my defense I guess it's a non-commercial use for a product that would be provided for free anyway...)

JT,
That is one sweet looking MC. Do you have more pictures on this site? We need to see more pictures of these older MCs. What engine does it have?

I'll be sending scanned copies of whatever I have to TT Admin along with the WSM articles on a CD. I don't anticipate any copyright problems as I'm sending it to the owner of the copyright. If they don't post it, so be it.
