View Full Version : Quick Steel

A few weeks ago while driving, I missed a "DIP" sign in the road. Made me feel like a dip, I bottomed the car out and cracked the oil pan. I did not know it at the time. I was on my way to practice at a local park.
The car sat for about two hours at the park and bled dry.
The mechanic was not far away, maybe 5-10 miles. I thought I would give the quick steel a try. I also bought 4 gallons of oil -- just incase.
The quick steel is an epoxy putty that cures within 5 mins. I cleaned the oil off the pan and patched the whole area. It was cracked right above the drain plug.
I did not loose one drop of oil on the way. I was really impressed. Gonna keep some in all the vehicles -- just incase.
I have always used JB Weld but it needs to cure over night. I have never had much luck with the quick JB Weld. The Quick Steel works great.

I could not find a website for QS but found this...
I bought it at AutoZone
