Went to the online proshop to order a few 12" Mastercraft stickers for me and a ski partner.

3 - 12" MC Stickers @ $2.50 each

Total Order $7.50

Standard Shipping $13.00

This is absolutely stupid. Mastercraft should be giving these stickers away for advertising. I have no problem paying $2.50 for one but $13 shipping for at most $1.50 for an envelope and postage is nothing less than rape  .

Come on Mastercraft WAKE UP!!!!!

Needless to say I did not complete the order and will never order from the Pro Shop with a minimum shipping charge of $13.

Brian....try calling them on the phone. They might work a different price with you since it's only stickers...

I'm with BrianM on this one. You shouldn't have to call them on the phone to 'work something out' for something this outrageous.

Leroy

Agree it may be outrageous, but give them a call and see if they can put in a brown envelope for few bucks and help anyone with future orders. :)

I had the same thing happen, I was going to order a hat. 12.00 shipping. Crazy

The pro shop needs work. For Sure.

That minimum shipping fee can be fixed with a little thinking.
Alot of those shopping cart packages want the seller to set shipping based on the $ total of the order, rather than size or weight and it's sometimes a little work to get shipping to calculate well for ALL the different items on the site.

I don't see why the responsibility should be on us to ensure that we get treated fairly. If MC wants to farm out this shop, they at least bear the responsibility of making sure their customers don't get shafted.

Because Friday is the day for puns, have you ever priced a drive shaft at your dealer?

No I have not but if you guys bend a prop shaft, box it and send it to me and I will tell you what I can make a new one for. We will make you a new one for what I think will be cheaper than dealer price.

When I bent my father in law's last year, we looked into getting it straightened as opposed to going new. Due to the degree and location of the bend (near the prop aft of the strut), I couldn't find anybody who could guarantee it to be within the proper tolerance.

Are you saying you guys could straighten it, or you would fabricate a new one to spec?

We've probably still got it if you'd like to have a look at it. Surely I'll be in Houston at some point soon.

Ric
02-18-2005, 12:21 PM
I would machine it new. If I had a database of all the different OEM prop shaft lengths and tapers and threads, I'd be offering them to dealers, etc. But I dont have that information, so I'd need your bent sample to make a new one.
I don't think I'd try straightening them either. There would be more risk of failure at that bend point in the future on a straightened shaft, I think.

Standard Shipping $13.00 ???????

Jus for the heck of it, I called the MC ProShop.
Toll Free: 1.877.4MC.STUF
(1.877.462.7883)

I also ordered the same quanity (3) of 12" stickers to see if the shipp'n rate would also be $13.00; it was.
After voicing my :twocents: opinon, regarding their shipping prices to Katie their customer service rep, I was placed on hold and handed over to the General Manager, Grey Powers. I introduced myself, told him that I was calling on behalf of the TT Board and it's members as well as myself.

Mr. Grey Powers said, "they have to use UPS/FEDX" to ship things and the cost of shipping is for residental areas.
I told him, how insane the price for "Standard Shipping" was @ $13.00 just 3 decals and he agreed.
He was very professional and polite.

He is willing to give us a MAJOR "Shipping price" BREAK for any MC MasterCraft Logo Decals, you guy's want to buy!

Let me know how many each of you want, NO LATER then Friday.
I'll call him at the end closing and let him know the quanity for the number of orders.
They will be shipped (for a couple extra bucks, instead of $13.00) to your door, in a paper envelope w/ a piece of cardboard inserted for firmness. :toast:

So order up! I'm down for 3, anymore?
You can thank me later .....

Hey Ryan,

Thanks for your immedate reply and order request  What I need to do first he asked, was to find out how many decals you guy's want and of what size. Then, I'll call back Friday and inform him on the quanity.

I'll give him the names and then you can call in and place your order, sound good?

They HAVE to use UPS/FEDEX?
Union rules?

The Mob going to break someones kneecaps if they us USPS? Doubt it.

They need to look at a new paradigm regarding shipping....most likely they've never used USPS and just don't know how simple it is or don't want to send someone over to the post office to ship it.

The Store was better when it was in house, they've outsourced it and no matter how willing the new folks are to work with us on shipping it detracts from the brand.

Someone mentioned JD Powers earlier, bring the store back home or where ever it was being done before and get some MC quality back into the program for both the merchandise selection and shipping.

I'd agree with them if their reasoning is they dont want to send someone over to the P.O. Now that is a serious waste of time and yes, they'd have to charge more than ups for that.

I will take four 12" Thanks for the legwork:toast:

Another note. I had decided that I would not order from the proshop out of principle so I called two dealers. The closest dealer to me is (2 hours away). They both wanted $6.95 per sticker for the 12" but would send them in an envelope for like $2. Works out to about the same price as paying $2.50 for a sticker and $13 to ship when you are buying 4.:(

 Guess they've never heard of USPS.com?? You can do all of your shipping from your computer and have them picked up, give them to your mailman or drop them in any postal box, OR, as a last resort, take them to the postoffice and someone like me will smile and accept them!
(And we are CONSISTENTLY cheaper than Brown for small packages.):)

I've personal experience with this
unless something's changed recently I cannot insure a parcel unless I carry it to the window and no international packages can be shipped without going to the window(LINE) am I wrong?
There is a cost to get in line with 6-8 parcels requiring human contact and waiting in line behind 10 people purchasing their money orders to pay their bills.
I've not even gotten a good contact at the PO to let us drop our metered parcels at the back dock of the PO since 9/11
I'd love to know there is a resolution to some of these issues Mrs.

You can insure up to $200 (I think) online now, I just had several of my ebayers start doing international through their computer; they print out the customs form there also. I don't know how big your office is, the station I work out of is fairly small and a lot of our customers will bring their packages (all ready to go) up to the extra counter and leave them. Maybe because we are pretty small, it works out this way. I've worked for USPS for over 30 years and have seen them try a lot harder lately to get and keep customers. I could be misinformed, but was under the impression that because a meter is traceable (as is the credit card under USPS.com) we have relaxed the acceptance some. You should be able to contact your main office and have a small business agent work with you. And yes, MasterMason, unless you REALLY annoy me, I'll smile at you!! (Okay, through ranting now :) )
Hey Farmer Ted, How you been? Weather has been crummy, rain/snow showers yesterday. We're jealous, it'll be months before the boat goes in the water - not that that matters, since we haven't seen it since September!

What's up with your boat? Still in Omaha? I just got mine back after a 4 month layup, frustrating as hell but live and learn I guess.

MrsJMT

EVERYbody knows Norm! Yeah, the boat is still in Omaha, it went back to the factory, when it came back Eric wasn't happy with the gelcoat crack fixes and some other repairs, so he knew Jim wouldn't be either; so it's now at a gelcoat place in Omaha for more work. Hopefully when they're done with it, we'll be happy. In the meantime, we just keep making those boat payments....... :(

I know too well that feeling, it sucks but at least it's the off season. Mine sat at the Gel coat place for 3 months in the heart of our season before they brought the jaws of life in and pulled the guys head out of his @ss.

Come to find out the "he's been our #1 guy since we opened the dealership" hadn't ever done a metal flake boat before. It came out great but man it was frustrating at times.

Finally got it back just before Christmas when I was right in the middle of buying a house, I almost let it sit there for 4 months but the girl who ran the dealership took really good care of me on a bunch of other stuff and I didn't want to do her wrong.

Cool I will set aside a day and just go down there and find someone who will let me do all this. It has been about 10-12months since I last visited this issue, so it's about time to do it again.

You know, most of the dealers make up to 30% markup on these boats. Dont you think they owe you a couple of stickers from time to time? Most of the time the dealer doesnt have to pay for them anyways. Especially if you are a good customer and always get your work done there (winterizations, sumerizations, oil changes). Thats just how I feel.

MCPS205, Mind if I ask where you heard 30%?

The pro shop shoud be giving decals away, for the free advertising they get from our pride. Other manufacturers give them away.

My dealer actually gave me a decal, not only for free, but mailed it to me at no cost. It was actually the sales rep I worked with who remembered me and said not to worry about paying for it. I was so stoked. I couldn't wait for my free $8 chrome decal to show up. But when it got here I discovered it's the new Gothic font. That ain't goin' on the back of my car, but it will look great on my wakeboard.

I actually found a website that would make me a brushed aluminum decal for less than the pro shop price w/ shipping. But thanks to a few phone calls from you folks now I don't have to.
