Wow.....what a big disappointmnet to me. I was building a boat and the 2008 model years are listed and the Maristar 230 and X-30 are no longer available. Only the 200, 215, 245 & 280......why build a 200 and 215 they seem almost the same? Is it a fact MC is going all pickel fork fronts?

The 200, 245, 280 are a pickle fork the 215 is NOT a pickle fork. I initially wasn't a fan of the pickle fork but now I would have nothing else but a pickle fork as the extra room and space upfront is worth it as well as the extra step off to the dock off the front. My wife will pull in straight and I use the step to get off and get the trailer, far easier and better than traditional.

But the 230 is a bow front, the 215 is still a bow. Does this make the bow boats somewhat out dated?

Both the 215 and 230 have the same bows. The only difference is size the 215 is 21' 8" and the 230 is 22' 5" and fuel capacity (215 is 45 gal and 230 is 60 gal) and weight. Also the 230 had a walk through on the engine cover where there is no padding. Also one is rated for 14 people and one 16 people.

I lost interest in the the 230 when they made it so much bigger (and heavier) in 2006. My 2004 is a perfect size for me, but the 2006 model was far more boat than I wanted. If I had been looking in 2006, I would have skipped right over the 230 and gone right to the 215. I think the 2006 - 2007 models of the 230 weren't cost-effective given the usable size differences between it and and the 215 and taking into account that the 215 weighs so much less.

Just sayin'...I suspect that the 215 cannibalized 230 sales to the point where it wasn't worth it to keep it in the lineup.

If you have ever been in a 215 it feels huge. I seriously considered the x15 instead of the x2 but I am mostly trailering it, and the x15 is just too big a boat to be hauling around all the time. It is a very nice boat however and plenty of room for most people.

According to Jay, it is still available. Just not in the design a boat yet:

I think it is still available, but agree, compared to my 2001 they are so much bigger and the sides are much higher.

I looked at the X15 & X30 side by side before I bought the 30. The 30 is bigger than the 15 in every way especially up front. X45 was a tad to big for me. I was looking for a wakeboard boat that was the same size and weight as my '03 Cobalt. The 30 was perfect. I know it's a slow seller for MC since the 15 was introduced & for some reason the 30 has been blown off by a lot of people. Find an '07 with a LY6 and take it for a drive and a pull. It will deliver the goods and you will have a boat that is not as common as the rest of the MC line-up. Hope MC brings it back for '08 if not they spent a lot of $$ for a 2yr run.
