Hey guys,

I bought Perfect Pass... ready to do the install this weekend. I want the install to be as Factory as possible. I would love to get some pictures of paddle wheel placement and also where the control module goes. Any help/pics will be appreciated...
Thanks!

I have an 2003 209 and installed Perfect Pass myself. The 2003 has a factory installed paddlewheel for the speedos so I can take a picture tonight and get it to you tonight or tomorrow.

I had my perfect pass installed by a MasterCraft Dealer. Of course, it's not a 209, but to the extent it helps. The paddle wheel is located behind the driver's seat on the starboard side of the engine in the bilge.

I guess it is on the right because that's the speedo guage that you replace (at least on the older boats). Also, it needs to be back of the driver so it will always be in the water.

The servo motor is mounted to the hose that goes to the starboard-side exhaust manifold. It was mounted vertically, but I had to flatten it out a bit because the knob coninually fell off (that's not good because it causes you to lose all throttle control. The brain is installed under the dash along the panel in front of the driver's feet.

There's a great install w/ pics on the malibu boat owners forum in the how-to section.

Thanks guys for the info. DanC, I have almost that exact boat except 01' and grey instead of black stripe. Looks good. Those pics would be a great help, thanks a lot.

I couldn't figure out how to e-mail or PM attachments to you so here they are.

The outside picture of the paddle wheel has a funny color because I was also shining a flashlight on it. I had better pictures of the outside but the flash washed out the crease next to the paddlewheel that you have to look out for.

I don't know where the factory mounting location for the CPU is. The picture is where I mounted it. Not easily accessed, but I heard too many stories of people getting their CPUs doused with a bow wave. If water gets to this location, I have more to worry about than my PerfectPass  .

I didn't take a picture of the servo because PerfectPass should have sent you a beautiful picture with the installation instructions. If not I have the picture of the MCX I could scan for you

Not right or wrong (obviously), but my paddle wheel is mounted slightly farther back than that one.

That's just wrong that the MC site has to go to Malibu for that kind of referal....

I know, I know. If it makes you feel better, technically, they're not affiliated with Malibu inasmuch as M'bu doesn't pay for that site. Perhaps Bfrye could take some pictures and do a write up on his install so TTAdmin could post it here (with the appropriate disclaimers of course).

All that said, that MBO board has some great stuff in the "how-to" section. Liability concerns being what they are, my bet is that we'll continue to have to go there to view it.

What's interesting is that even though they have more members than this board, I think we're more active.
