Great day in history for us, today is the 85th anniversary of the invention of Water Skiing. 85 years ago today on Lake Pepin at Lake City, Minnesota. Ralph Samuelson nailed some leather straps onto a couple of wooden slats and that was the beginning of it all . Banana George was seven !!!

The USA WATERSKI HALL OF FAME is worth a trip
when you come to Florida. 1/2 way between Orlando and Tampa

Lake City MN, nice little town. Very scenic area along the Mississippi there. They have a bronze plaque on a rock at the Marina commemorating this event.

The Very First Pair of Waterskis...
What do think he had his fin set at? What about those bindings. Did he use soap or was he ahead of his time and thinking about the environment?

and yes, What a wonderful day it is. Thanks again RS
