Put about a 2' pipe over the end of your wrench for more leverage.

Do you have a torch? If you do or have access to one heat the bolt up and try that.
And if all else fails try the other left.

I would try removing it with a air ratchet/impact wrench. Just be sure you have the spark plug wire off and moved away from the spark plug for safety sake.

Breaker bar, (or the pipe) or an impact gun. If it's a push mower, you can throw it in the truck and bring it to a gas station, if you can find one that actually does service. They'll do it for you.

Here's a web site for toro blade replacment. If you click on thru to where you remove the blade it shows direction to turn the nut! I wouldn't remove the deck if you have one but the block of wood is a help to stop the blade. And if you have a garden tractor car ramps work good. This site is alot more work than needs but it may help. Be careful!!!

You should be able see a thread on the nut or bolt to see if it is lefty loosey or righty loosey!

I'm pretty sure from the Toro's I've owned and seen, the mower blade nut is LH to remove. Impact wrech should work well. If not, take it up to your local mower repair man!

Sit outside the front door of a Chinese Buffet with the mower, some little old lady going in to get her weekly fill can break it loose for you!

Why do you want to take the blade off ? Are you one of those people who like to take thing apart and put it togehter to kill time ? :D Anyway, I have a toro also so just curious of what I need to do to my blade.

That is your problem... it is reverse threaded.

Just take a hand held grinder and sharpen the blade once you get the basta#$ off. You could even use a file and do it by hand if no grinder in available. Not hard to do since you don't need it sharp enough to cut tomato's with. :D :D

Is it like the toilet water thing, depends on which side of the divide as to which way the nut turns.  :D
