My 5 yr. old son has been saying for 2 yrs. that he wants to ski. I always ask when we are out and have access to small skis (we don't have any...in fact we don't own combos at all). He usually says he wants to until we are near water. Well, last night he said he was going to when we headed to the lake. He did try!!!! He didn't get up, but tried about 5 times. He was very close to getting up. I was very proud that he kept trying even after going under water several times. I was beaming. 8p

Put some money at the other end of the rope in the boat, and he will come up!

He is doing great for just starting out! See if you can find some used double trainers on ebay for the little man.

I have access to about 3 different sets of trainers at our ski club, but need to check out e-bay for some others to take with us when we hit the river. I was so happy he gave it a good shot, and didn't get discouraged. I'll try him again this weekend. My 3 yr. old daughter is saying she wants to try, but we told her she has to jump off the dock by herself first. Just to get her used to her head going under.

^^^^That's the ticket!!!^^^^:D
I have a pair that I got from Cypress Gardens that both of my kids used and several friends kids have used and hopefully my grandkids will use. Get'em and keep'em!!!

I think the key is not pushing him, but encouraging. I told him if he started skiing at 5, he would have me beat by one year, although the first time I ever got up was with full size skis. Don't know how I did it?

Pretty cool isn't it. I don't want to push them, but i want them to ski because I'm sure they will enjoy it.
