I built a prop guard for my 84 Trailer and now have installed a new 4 blade OJ prop and am nervous The guard is too close! I have about 7/8 - 1 inch of clearance between the prop and the cross bar of the guard. Once it clears the 2" bar it's is home free. We do power the boat on. Any thoughts. TB

Our '89 measures 7/8'' exactly with a OJ 13X13 4 blade and it has never hit in 18 years and we have always powerloaded.

hitting is too close lol. I have no idea honestly. All i know is our 07 ps 197 got into the side of the guard, not the bottom. Someone put the trailer in too deep

Yea, I just hit mine on the trailer...be very careful!!! I was docking in a 15mph cross wind...and we got a gust that sent the bow just past the boat buddy and the prop just touched the trailer...needless to say it is being fixed right now. It only bend the blade about 1/4" on the very tip, but I want an immaculate prop! My dealer was cool tho...gave me a replacement while mine is being fixed.

I wouldn't worry about the cross bar, but the support bars on either side of the boat. Remember the trailer is on the bottom and your boat is floating over it...so on the trailer you only have 1" clearance...but in the water you might have 6" - 8".

Same here. I actually remember it being about 3/8", but Harold probably has a better ruler than I do. :)
