My hands are sore from the slalom runs I made over the w/e...therefore I'm now in the market for a new pair of gloves and was wanting suggestions.

What do you use, like, and dis-like about your gloves?
If you were to buy a new pair today, what you would you buy?

Gladiator Pro Champ. $39. These are the follow up to the old Overton's Pro Skins gloves, which were used by many pro skiers and, unfortunately discontinued. Just got my second pair for Father's day after getting two seasons out of my first pair. I've found them to be a bit more durable than the old pro skins. Easy on and off, too. Blisters have been rare for me.

Maybe I should reconsider. I have been nursing a blister from my crutches since I decided I should go watch the Colonial golf tournament about 5 weeks ago!

I'm an old fart, so clinchers work for me.

More glove questions? Many of the new gloves advertise "aramid fiber material" - is this better than Kevlar? What is aramid? Are they softer but as durable as Kevlar? Just wondering, my Connely Kevlar palm gloves are the first pair that have held up for two seasons, but now have holes on the tips? The new SL's have the Super Grip Glove, has double-padded amara palm w/ silicone surfacing - looks like the silicone will rip off with in a few sets. Any thoughts? Thx!

I've been running the connely claw gloves for the past 3 or 4 seasons and have held up very well. At the rate I'm going I'll be in the market for new gloves in 4 years or so.

Aramid and Kevlar are basically the same thing. Kevlar is DuPont's para-aramid material. Both are used in body armor.

That's great to know, I don't want any bullets going into my hand while I'm toobing from a float by attack!

Yeah, they run a little large. Exactly the same as my straightline kevlars I had before. I have a decent sized hand I and have mediums. I may buy smalls next year.

This last summer I tried some from the HO line up, I always use the yellow glove liner glove things, plus a pair of gloves, to take up space in the palm and add some padding.

And combined they were excellent.

When my hands get really bad, I tape, glove liner, gloves, then a pair of the next size up gloves over my gloves. And then I can ski again.
