I saw the thread on the monster towers and I got me thinking about buying some kind of aftermarket tower. Anyone have pictures of their boat with an aftermaket tower installed? Please post the cost and your opinion of your tower.

Click on the photo icon on this post to see my Monster Tower and see my reply to your question on the Monster Tower Group Buy thread that was just started. Anyway, they are solid when installed correctly with no squeaks. $995.00 plus $125.00 install.

Hey Boss, I bet you were really looking at the towers ;)

I have an Ichor Tower, paid about $1500 at Wiley's for it. I like the fact that the size of the tubing is larger than normal. Something about that makes it look better. It's one of the most rigid towers I've ever skied behind.... which says a lot coming from a foil rider as we push these things harder than most boarders.

I went with New Dimension because of the similarity in looks to the Zero Flex. The owner of ND designed and used to fabricate the tower for Master Craft. It was a little pricey. However, I was lucky because ND had lost the jig to make the tower for the 2001-05 PS 190. They cut me a deal because I drove the boat from VA to Tennessee where the factory is and let them model it off my deck. I got the tower, 2 board racks, 6 light maco rack and the install for $1,900.
I have no complaints, it doesn’t vibrate, collapses easy and just like with any tower if you are pulling hard to one side you can feel it.
I have pic's in my folder

I like the looks of the ND tower the best also, I also like the Skylon Swoop tower but I do not know if they make one to fit my 205.

i have the nd tower as well, looks great . unforntunatley i havent had a chance to use it yet . i rarely wakeboard since i am a course skier mostly ,but i have friends who do so i bought the tower. i wanted something that would look good a not ruin the look of the boat or add too much weight. the nd tower is really light.

Skylon makes a tower for the 205, but it's one of the bounciest things I've ever seen. Driving thru the chop with a couple of boards, speakers & lights on the tower is scary to say the least.

We had a Skylon Swoop on our 1997 PS 205. There are a couple of different versions of the Swoop, though, and not all of them fit all models/years. If I remember, our dealer called Skylon & got the info for us.
I guess it depends on the install/model maybe, but AirJunky is right, there's some flex in the tower, although I would not have described ours as scary. On the other hand, we only wakeboard. Never ridden a foil, though I'd like to try! :D
Here are some pics of my Samson Sports tower.
I went with Samson for three reasons:
1. Custom built tower for MY boat;
2. Look of tower on boat;
3. Collapsible tower
Monster Towers have a great following and are definately the best price on the market for a quality tower, but I personally don't like the way they look on my MC.
I also looked into putting a ZeroFlex/New Dimensions tower on my boat, but after visiting my MC dealer and looking at the quality (or lack of!) in these towers, I changed my mind. Looks like a 5 year old is welding those towers together?!
My tower:
Tower $2,150
Custom Powdercoat $95
2 Board Racks $430
Anchor Light/Tow Ball $90
Bimini Top w/Boot $500
Total $3265
I paid my local MC dealer $300 to install the tower and wire the stern light.
Since, I have added tower speakers and "docking" lights.

I have an 13th Floor tower on my 205. I have no complaints, my cousin has an older version on his 1999 195, and no complaints for 3 years.

SD, good looking boat. I love the whole beach setup you have going on there. Hopefully the rain CA is getting will help your lake level a little. It looks to be about 30 ft below full pool.

That picture is early August at Lake Naciemento, nice lake and hopefully the rain will help it out, because its been a little dry the last few years.
You should have seen the beach two days earlier, we had 80 horizontal feet of shade up, that picture is only 50. A couple of boats and families had left. It did make for a more quiet second week.

Here you can see my cousins's 195, my 205 and another cousin's 190 (no tower, he uses a home made pole that coverts to a barefoot boom

Monster towers are the most economical but if you want a perfect Mastercraft reproduction for less $ go to www.newdimensiontowers.com Wayne will hook you up with the best Mastercraft knock off on the market. He is located up the road from MC plant and used to mfg thier towers so he has a pretty good insight to design.

If you go to the monster towers homepage, they have a customer photo section - click on that and then Mastercraft and you can see virtually any model - I just put one on my 89 prostar. Takes a little time to set up but very nice and folds completely flat. good luck

THAT has to be one of the uglyiest towers I've ever seen. Hope he didn't pay much for it.

I ran across this report on New Dimensions this morning. I hope their not turning into another T3.......
"I just thought I’d clue everyone in to my recent experience with ordering a tower….. On June 21st I ordered a New Dimension Tower. They gave me an expected ship date of July 22nd, which seemed pretty reasonable to me since it is an exact fit tower, and they need to build it to fit my boat. July 22nd came and went with no tower. I called and they changed the ship date to August 8th. August 8th came and went with no tower. Since August 8th I’ve been trying to get a new ship date out of them. They can’t give me one because they’re too backed up, and said they’d get it done as soon as possible. Yesterday after waiting nearly 2 months for a tower I cancelled the order, and ordered a Titan II tower. Titan Guarantees shipment with 7 days, or they refund part of your money. I’ll let everyone know how long it takes to get the Titan. Hopefully they live up to their word.
To make a long story short……stay away from New Dimension if you actually want to receive your tower after you order it….
These guys have the most horrible customer service I’ve ever seen!!!! "

What are you doing with your Ichor tower?

Leaving it right where it's at! :uglyhamme
No problems with it other than a small crack under the left rear foot. It happened on Sammamish when I was tied up to a raft of a bunch of other boats. Some guy threw us a wave & the 'bu next to me knocked tower feet pretty hard. It hasn't moved in over two years so I'm thinking it's just a surface crack.
I am a big fan of the Ichor tower. Very stout & no bouncing to the sides. As a foil rider we have more of a problem with the side to side bounce because of the tricks we attempt to land out there. Not many boarders who try mobes, front flips or 360s out in the flats anymore......... and then hold on to a sketchy landing with a 35 lb anchor strapped to their butt! :woohoo:
Bill,
I just have to read the posts a little better, I thought you had ordered the New Dimension...
Wes
After watching Lawrence, I can see the need for a solid tower... :D

No kidding.... you guys with a bouncy tower have obviously never seen a foil rider (or a wakeboarder) try & land something sketchy out in the flats. We've had non-stretch ropes get slingshotted into the boat & break the mirror or the windshield before.
Wakeboarders doing tricks out in the flats isn't terribly common any more, but lots of foil riders do them. But if you stack a tower with boards, speakers & lights & then go drive around in choppy water, you'll see some bouncin........ and bouncin leads to breakin. :eek3:
The Titan II rocks. I'll be interested to see how strong the new Titan III is.

I've seen that before and have to give those guys credit.
As for New Dimension I think it was Jake that found a used on on eBay. I believe New Dimension said they would make him some new feet to fit his boat and then after he bought it they blew him off. Not good ...

It was RickD. I remember because he went on a rant about the wakeboard chick on the other website ragging on these guys. Something about the Californians invading Oregon.
