Jamie B got 2.5 at 41 for the title. Can't remember who else rounded out the top. Rossi got 2nd. Suprised that Parrish fell at 2 ball on the 39 pass.

Awesome camera work from the crane.

Almost the same as the Masters for CP. He seemed understandably really frustrated in the post ski interview. Wondering if the transition to HO last year after skiing O'Brien for so long really has thrown him for a loop or what? Jamie has really been skiing well this year. He seems hungry.

Wow, 6 full passes at 38off in a row. That's the stuff! He even elected to take a partial (i think) first pass at 35off to warm up.

I thought the point was to run 38 off cold with no prep or warm ups.

I thought so, too. They gave every skier a "freebie" 35 off pass down the lake to warm up. Then, shorten to 38 and spin every pass after that. They didn't have to make, or even ski, the 35 off. In fact, Jamie was the only one to not ski it at all - just followed the boat the first pass. That guy's a machine. Not many others even made 2 in a row, suprisingly.

i thought that was interesting as well...i was actually surprised that MC made the push for offering both, that's huge!!!

did anyone catch who chose what?!?i did hear Marcus get asked the question by Sully and he said he chose PP because that's what he's been training with, but said ZeroOff worked great last weekend up in Charleston...

Gotta say, it's an impressive job with cameras and such, very smooth. Awesome angles that really get you close to the skier and see the details of their execution as they slash through the course.

Good stuff !

I hope they put this up for the Ipod later, I'll be pulling it down.

I didn't see it, but apparently Andy put one in the boat, too.

So what's the deal with two ties, but points going to one team versus the other. How does that scoring work?

Asher got 30 and Parish got 20? Same buoy count.

Susi got 25 and Mapple got 5? Same buoy count.

What am I missing on splitting points?

I don't know. I thought they said on the last one that they split 25 each. ICBW

Given how close it ended up being, if anyone can shed some light on this, I'd appreciate it.

All I could find on the site was ...

"Head-to-head Team Challenge: In each heat, one skier from each team skis behind his sponsor's boat. The best score wins the heat and a point for the team. At the end of five heats, the team with the most heats won (points) wins the challenge."

or why dont they use those kick back protectors???

The shock tubes do little more than keep the rope from wrapping around the driver's neck. With the new rules about hanging on back to the wake to score a full buoy, get ready for a lot more handles in the boat.

we should do a poll on "rope burns around the neck"...i've gotten at least two in my life, one so bad it pulled me out of my driver's seat...another time i avoided a handle in the face, by putting up my forearms to block my face and caught the handle between them...was the weirdest thing ever!!!

certainly lots of talk that this "NEW RULE" of holding on to return to center wakes is asking for trouble...

I should've added that we use a shock tube in an attempt to avoid that kind of driver injury. Fortunately, even without it, the only person who ever hit the back of the boat with a handle was my brother in law, who doesn't hold on for nearly as long as he used to. Still scary to see that thing almost make it in the boat.

I remember from last year that the first skier had the advantage. Don't know for sure if that's the way they were doing it this time or not. If the seconde skier doesn't beat the previous score they don't win. Last year, a tie went to the first skier to get the score.

The replay of that handle pop was hard to watch. I ski with a handle-popper. Anytime we get past 28 off, I have a hard time not looking in the mirror.

Strange way to do it IMO. Would prefer a tie breaker pass. Also, the discrepancy of the scores between CP and Asher versus the discrepancy between Susi and Mapple was pretty vast. Not to mention that Cockerman, who was skiing for MC, got 10 pts for 3 @ 38, while Andy got 5 pts for 2.5 @ 39.5. That really confuses me. Surely I'm missing something obvious.
