TT newbie trying to get help on my '85 S&S. Have slow leak out of weep hole under circ pump and about every 2 seconds and figure it will only get worse. Have ordered new circ pump from skidim. Is this a job an average at best mechanic can do? Any pics on this forum for help? I am direction challenged without pics. Any help is appreciated since the weather is great and I hate missing lake time.

that's not a hard job at all, remove belts, remove hoses, then look at the bolts.

Unbolt it.

Clean mounting face, and inspect gallery.

Use new seal, bolt new pump on, reattach hoses, reattach belt. Tension belt...

its a boat so imagine doing that in a car with a cooling fan and radiator in the way... or on a datsun.

Make sure the seal is not kinked or squished out.

Do you think you need a pump or maybe just a gasket??

If it is leaking out of the weap hole, then it means the pump is bad.

88 PS 190,

Thanks for the info. My new pump arrives Tuesday and I'll use your info to replace it. Can't wait to get out on the water, the weekend is beautiful.
