Hi:
I found this site in my search for a new (to me:D ) mastercraft. I found a decent deal on a 2001 x-10 and tried to do some research on the model here but found hardley anything. I know it shares the 210 hull, but is the anything special about the x-10 good or bad I should be aware of? I hope to go see it this weekend so any help would be appreciated. I want a decent wake board boat that also has some room for the family.
Thanks!

We owned a 2002 X10. It was our first inboard and was a great transition boat from a runabout I/O (21' Sea Ray) to the inboard world. I like to describe our former X10 as a boat that did many things well. The ride, room, and styling were great! With additional weight the wake was big, but wide. The slalom/ski wake was decent...from what I was told.

Why no more X10 for us? After riding in the 205V hull and moving more and more towards wakeboarding, we realized the 205V hull was what we wanted and so we moved out of the X10.

As with anything, you have to determine what your priorities are and what you want out of the item. If you want space, decent ride, and all around decent watersports capability, that X10 might be your choice. For us, we just found out over time that we became very specific in what we wanted our boat to do.

Hope this helps some.

The X-10 is a great boat. Note that the only difference between the X-10 and the 210 is the X-series equipment like graphics, tower and ballast. I have a 230 with that same Maristar hull and it works well for skiing, wakeboarding and foiling. Adding a wake plate will definitely help with the slalom wake, too leaving you with a good wakeboard boat and a good slalom boat (not the best in either category, but pretty darn good in both). I agree that it's probably a better all-around boat than the others, but how well it works for you depends on what kind of towable water sports you need it for.

pharmerjeff ,

What engine is in the 2001 X-10?

what are you looking to get out the X-10?

beatle it has the LTR 330 engine. I am looking for a comfortable family boat that will fit 3-7 people + gear and be good for wakeboarding, and other water sports. Recreational use only, no slalom pros in the family. I guess what I am after is a solid general use boat, and am looking for specific things I should be on the lookout for with this model/engine. This would be my first inboard.
I did see that the LTR has a oil pump gear that must be inspected/updated, and that the x-10 was changed to the x-15, so there were probably some shortcomings in the x-10.
Thanks for the responses guys!

I own an '04 210 ParmerJeff. I love it. I have seen X-star and X-9's but for a all around fun family bote for a guy who wakeboards, it is very good.

Here's a few pic's of the wake and the boat I own. These are from March of this year...

Hey there, other than being biased, based on this, and if you are getting a good deal, it sounds like a good boat for you. We are in the same situation and own an '03 X-10... we did some strange stuff and have the X-10 package with a 210 interior. Engine wise we have the LQ-9 which is a bit much, but overall a wonderful family fun boat!

I had a 2002 X-10 with the LTR 330 HP engine...great boat. Not a single problem with it. Highly recommended.
