Has anyone with a 91 - 94 PS 190 expeienced porpoising? Ours does it with one or two people sitting in the back at 30+ mph in calm water. Does not do it in the course with all passengers in the front.

Growing up My folks had a '86 Ski Supreme, We had that problem too. Turns out the problem was the Stringers flexing, we fixed it with Hydraulic trim tabs. Wasn't that spendy, and it worked like a charm. Plus was fun to goof around with and get a huge wake on one side of the boat. We also used them to level out the boat if there was uneven weight distribution.

Or just keep weight in the front, we had a closed bow and before we installed the trim tabs, we put a few sandbags in the nose that helped quite a bit.

My 82 has always done this when on glass.
If the water is calm, why isnt somebody out there sking?
Move the passangers to the front seat.
Problem fixed!

Thanks. Great advise ski king. Just noticed it last week, while giving our daughter her first driving lesson. Had the little ones sit on the floor in the back while I talked through driving a skier at 34 mph.

Never had that problem at all with my 93.

You mentioned something though, 'calm water'. What's that?

Mine hasn't done that yet. What's a back seat?

(Websters) Back Seat: The thing under a blanket, sitting on top of an old chest in the basement storage room.

We only use it when we're on vacation in VT for one week in July, putting around Lake St. Catherine with 6 people on board. Othaer than that it's under the blanket.

I have never had my 91 porpoise on me, calm, rough, people or no people.

It wasn't anything severe. Just a slight up and down of the bow, at about 32mph with two kids (about 170 lbs combined) siting on the rear floor, with my daughter and I up front. I just noticed it and was a little suprised. I'll check it again this weekend. Perhaps the there were some slight rolls in the water.
