Ok so call me a woosy all you want......I am thinking about getting a neck brace for footin. Not that I am good by any means but I really enjoy the sport and trying to progress........My reasoning for the neck brace is after about every outing my neck is killing me and so is my pocket book after a couple of quick repeat visits to the chiropractor. I'd like to be able to enjoy this sport well past my prime.
Do any other footers out there wear a neck brace? Do you have a brand you prefer? I found this one on Barefoot Central

Any related info would be greatly appreciated.

Get one of those cones dogs wear! That would be cool! Sorry Jeff I have no good advice tonight. most barefooters wear one for when they are practicing their backwards footin'.......i specifically target my neck for strength-building when i am in the gym..........i used to attach two weights to the end of a towelling robe belt and hold it in my teeth and move my head up and down....strengthening my neck and jaw at the same time(handy for teeth-holds).....a strong muscular neck is a must, spesh as we go in head first at 40:D

I bought the Ron Scarpa bull collar a couple of years ago. Not sure if it's still being made, but pretty comfy

JR you woosy, your already past your prime. 8p ;)

Sounds like a good idea JR. I dont care what people say, if it helps you avoid pain and injury, WEAR IT! Besides when you are as cool as we are, you look good no matter what you wear. Thats why I dont worry about that stuff. :D

Definetly get a neck brace, especially if you have any plans of starting to learn backwards. I bought the same one you are looking at and love it.
Good luck.

I wish I wore one when I used to barefoot. It would have saved me from 4 hours on operating table and a stiff neck the rest of my life.

You just made up my mind for me Ski King, thanks!

Anyone have links to the Scarpa or other neckbraces besides the one I posted? I'd like to buy one asap.
