View Full Version : Trailer Bunk/Runners Replaced

I'm in the process of replacing all the bunk/runners on my trailer and I'm wondering how everyone is attaching the carpet to the boards. I've got 2x6x12' boards and I was considering gluing the carpet down, but I didn't know if stapling was a must. Just curious how many ways there are out there...Thanks!!!

Just staples. Same as the manufacturer did.

Thanks!!! What size staples? And what kind of glue?

Stainless staples are what you need - however, I know my local hardware store doesn't carry them. Maybe the "Lowes" or "Home Depots" have them. Gorilla glue is waterproof and works on just about anything, although it'll expand and ooze out the seams if you use too much. If it does this, you can wipe if off with a cloth before it sets up.

I think I used 3/8" stainless steel staples. No glue. Doubled the carpet on the top of the bunk.
