View Full Version : Water in Transmission

I purchased a 1992 Pro Sport 205 at the beginning of this summer. Just after my purchase of the boat, I had all the fluids including the Transmission Fluid changed. I recently checked the fluid and found it to be a bit high. i then pumped the fluid out and it appears to be mixed with water. Additional, there is only supposed to be 32 oz of fluid in it and I pumed out over 40 oz.

My guess is that the boat was not properly winterized and the transmission cooler is leaking water into the transmission. Does this make sense. What do I need to do to fix this??

Hey Brandon,

If you take the boat out for a little spin, the trans. fluid should turn milky if there's water in it. You can take the trans. cooler to a radiator shop and have them pressure check it and/or you can buy a new one over at skiDIM.

Hope this helps
