I need to replace the motor box struts on my 94 Prosport 205. Overtons has the right length - 19.5" extended / 12" compressed.

Has anyone tried these?

The Overtons are rated at 60 lbs - does that sound too high?

Will they fit on the stock MC brackets?

Thanks

I replaced them on my 93 prostar. I got them at Napa. The guy there said by looking at the numbers on them that they were 30lbs each. 60lbs sounds like it will take a lot of force to try and shut the motorbox. It could break the mounts off the floor. Napa had the correct ones the next day. $20 each.

Bought mine (engine box cover and observer seat) from Mike (MYMC) for my 94 PS 205. Could not have been easier.

Here is the part number for the shocks as well as for the brackets (if for a pre 1993 boat). There is also a diagram for the location of the stock attachment points. Hope it helps.

Again, this site proves to be an incredible resource. Thank you.

Glad it helped. Those shocks at NAPA will set you back about $40 for the set (just so you're prepared).
