Went out skiing today. No great skiers about a 150 pounder getting pulled at 15 off broke my strait line handle right off of the plastic parts. He came up just holding the black part of the handle. I got the rope for christmas....has anyone had this happen before? Im just happy the guy didnt get hurt!

Happened to me a while back. I bought the handle from Overtons. Only used it about 5 times. I took this pic and sent it to Overtons. Did yours look something like this?

thats scary i would hate to have that happen to me.. some people prefer the masterline handles so they can see the wear.

There was no wear to see. Brand new handle. It just failed.

I have heard of this happening quite a bit with the straighlines. Call them up they should treat you right. For what its worth I have never had a problem with In-Tows handles. Brenda makes good stuff. http://www.jlbmfg.com/

I broke a handle like that on a start a few years ago. It wasn't mine and it was a year or so old. Broke in the same place though. It hurt my wrist pretty bad. After about 10 minutes I decided to ski anyway. Then after a week I ended up going in for x-rays. Nothing broken, but a bad sprain they said. Hurt for about 6 weeks.

looks about like that only the complete black part of the handle ripped out of where it was being held onto. He was still holding onto the handle when he fell and i went backto pick him up. Im going to give straitline a call today

I've broken lines(not all straightlines) a lot. IT's a broken eardrum waiting to happen. You should see how bad it looks when you break one taken a huge dig at the ramp on an LD jump.

Sending busted fat sack to SL, we'll see how long it take for them to get me a new one!
