Hi guys,

What the best way to get the new perfect pass display installed in my 2001 205V?

On my BU there were 3 screws that I took out and the instrument panel fell out on my lap. It didn't look that easy on the MC.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

there are a few pop rivets going around the entire dash. you pop those out and unscrew two screws directly under the steering wheel. This should loosen the entire dash just enough to lift it up about 8 inches. This gives you enough room to get the old display out and the new one in.

exactly what he said. 3 pop rivets removable with a small flat head and two small phillips screws under the steering wheel. You might need to loosen up some of the zip-tied cables to get the dash up high enough to work on the starboard side speedometer, which is the one you want to replace.

Then you pop the harness out of the existing speedo, loosen up two nuts (I believe 8MM or so), and you will have an empty hole for the PP

I've got a '92 and the dash insert was of a poor design, the mounting screws were really flimsy. It sounds like they haven't improved the dash a whole lot since then.

Going to install new ignition switch in my 2000 205V and wanted to confirm Zeus' approach to get at it is correct?

Anyone have pics by chance? Boat is on lift 45 minutes away so I would like to bring ALL of the CORRECT tools. ;)

Rusty. Zeus is correct. A pointy Phillips and a flat head for the pop rivets. Cake.
