I'm also looking into LED's for my trailer and wondering if anyone had any. Anything to keep people from running into the boat is worth it!

Does any one know if the LED tail lamps are less prone to burning out when water gets into the lense assembly???? I know the units are supposed to be water proof.............. ......... but I have already replaced three of them due to water getting into the lense in one year.

From what I understand LED arn't light bulbs so there not supost to burn out!

I got tired of that and put mine on the guide poles! I put my license plate up there to so it wouldn't rust!

They might get foggy but with LED's I don't think I would matter!

I put LEDs on my trailer last year because they are brighter and they do not burn out when exposed to water like ordinary bulb do because there is no thermal shock from hitting the water since they do not heat up. (they really are cool) I was tire of replacing them and figured that the additional initial cost would soon be saved.
I bought mine on ebay, I emailed one of the sellers and asked him to put a package together that consisted of all the lamps I needed, included a new wire harness and rivets for $100 shipped to my house.
I am very happy with them.

Yeah, LEDs wont burn out and they are 100% water tight, so you dont have to worry about them burning out. They also have about a 100,000 hour use life. I have changed all of my trailer lights over to LED's and another good thing about them is that they use .10 of the power as the normal 12v lights. From what i ahve heard mymastercraft.com has a LED package for most mastercraft boats, kinda on the expensive side, so i am changing out all of my cabin lights now with LED's in the stock lighting housings and adding two in the bow of the boat as well. So heres the link for the mymastercraft.com LED's It's a very helpfull website so if you want LED's for your boat and dont mind spending some money i would do it. I will try to take some pictures when i am done and post them. And if anyone wants to know i can show you how i did my LED's for alot less.

http://www.mymastercraft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=573 Keep me posted. I'm interested in what type of LED's you use. From my understanding, there are different light patterns available...ie some are more of a narrow beam and some give a 180 degree light pattern. Good luck! :toast:

I think that's what they call those interior lites in my 05 (LED?) They came standard on the boat and are under the gunwales and they look awesome! there's a cluster of three on each side of the boat and they cast three beams out from under the gunwale. It was a nice surprise to see those for sure!

I was going to order my trailer with the LED lights from the factory but was surprised to find that they wanted nearly $600 for them. If you get them from Lit Up Enterprise are they any cheaper and do they plug in without any modifications to the factory wiring?

Lit up Enterprises makes the lights for Mastercraft. I am sure they are cheaper...it usually is when you cut out the middle man. Call them they are nice guys and can answer your wiring questions.

I redid my trailer with LEDs and i was all under 100 $'s!!!! Heres all you need to do, go down to your closest auto parts store and look for the yellow maker LEDs and the red side LEDs, they shouldnt cost you more than 40 bucks. Then go to a trucking store or anwhere that carry parts for big truck and they will have after market LED brake lights that will plug right in. I havent been able to find any white revers LEDs but i havent tried that lit up place yet but i might have to look in to it. It was all easy to do, like i said i will try to get some pictures this weekend, but all in all it is very simple to change them all over to the LEDs. Next thing im going to do is install some LEDs on the inside of the trailer that how up on to the X-2 sticker on the side of my boat so you can see it at night when im towing it. Not to mention when putting the boat on the trailer at night, should make it easier to see the sides.
Here is a pic of the led's under the gunwales in an 05 197.
If these pics were at all legible, you'd see what I mean!
They really are a cool effect.
Here is a look at the actual fixture which has 3 bulbs mounted in sort of an array.

It's a lot easier (and cheaper) to find a good maid than a fun wife who will do cool stuff with you (and drive in a straight line!) so who cares if you don't like to cook or clean. :toast:

My thoughts exactly….. I’ll pay a cleaning lady any day as long as my lady gets to come out in the boat with us. My first wife hated the boat so she stayed at home. The first 5 dates with my second were out in the boat to make sure she would not stay at home. :toast: At that time any girl that didn’t like the boat got the boot. :D

I sell LED products in the commercial market. Like any other products, there are quality ones and less than quality ones. The better products should work forever on your trailer and consume less power.
They repsond quicker to brake signals so should increase the distance required for a following vehicle to stop in the venet of emergecny braking.
The better products are potted and have voltage regulators designed into the board to assure uniform lighting under less than perfect input voltage.
I retofitted my trailer two years ago and the lights work perfect and look better too. I put a few white strip lights in the ski compartments and they work nicely too.

I added some led's that I bought from the MC dealer about a year ago. I put them under the drivers console, in the back of the engine cover and around the speakers. Looks good. Also, have some lights that I can "pop" into place while swimming a night. There are 3 lights (pond 12v clear) under the swim platform. Only thing we have noticed, the blue lights seem to attract the bugs.
Here is a link I ran across for a trailer LED kit for $130.......

Hey April, (aprgriggs) Hows it goin with the trailer LED's? All i was really looking for was some where to get my rev lights for the trailer, everything else is done. I wanted to ask you if you had done any LED's on the inside of your boat besides the sub enclosure? And if you selling you X-10 i hope you getting a new boat soon right? ;)

I am still working on the group buy...details are getting close.
My X10 has neon lights....sub and sides.
...It lights up the drink holders and the sub....neon really glows.
My new boat is sitting at the dealer...just waiting to sell my X10. :(

35th, if you use ifranview software that ttadmin suggested, you can do "gamma correction" on dark pics and sometimes make them more legible.

That sucks!!! So the question is, did you stay with the 05 X-10 or what did you go with? Cant the dealer help you out with selling yours? So as far as the LED's go, i would just need the revers lights. So i dont know is they can or are willing to do that just let me know how much they would want for them. So who do you ride with anyway?

I am changing gears and going with a X9...that something different would be fun. I hope I am making the right decision because I really liked my X10. I can do better by myself because I don't have to pay any fees...plus spring is coming. Someone will want my boat.
