View Full Version : Mastercraft X-9 fuel problem?

05-20-2007, 09:21 PM
I took my boat out for the 2nd time this season, all was good until it cut out as I was cruising across the lake. It cut out 2 times, rpms dropped and check engine came on for a split second. I continued for a few hundred yards and parked for 30-45 minutes. When I went to leave it wouldn't start. The engine turns over but wont start. My fuel gauge wont register and I know it has fuel I double checked. Any ideas on what the problem is? I have a guy that possibly wants to buy before next weekend so I am desperate. The boat is a 2004 X-9 with the 350 MCX engine.

Could be the fuel pump. You could pull the fuel line and see if it is pumpin fuel to the fuel rail.

I am not a mechanic, but are you saying to pull the fuel line up by the injectors? I looked and I saw a fuel line connector there. How can I tell if it is getting fuel to the rail? Where is the fuel pump located?

thanks for your help
