Hey guys I need some opinions here with my Sportstar. I had some stress cracks repaired because my boat's prior owner had a bit of a fender bender with it. I was unaware of this when we bought the boat, but after time the cracks begain to appear above the rub rail. I though maybe I was running to much weight in the boat but come to find out who ever fixed the boat repaired it with bondo and not fiberglass. All repairs are fixed correctly now, every thing above the rub rail has a fresh coat of paint on it and everything below has been buffed.

As you can see I took most of the larger decals off for the buffing process. I planned on getting new decals but after seeing it without I thought looked real clean. We took her out for the first time yesturday, good trip btw I got my Backrolls back and also most got Scare Crows under my belt, but the boat looks too plain in the water with out anything.

So here is the simple question. I am wanting to replace the Mastercraft decal with a drip molded type like on the newer models but I am wanting to put it under the windshield (Sportstars came with it on upper back corner and I am not to crazy about the looks of that.) Being I don't live close to a dealer I have looked at boats on here and seen the following that I like:

*White letter w/ black outline
*White letter w/ chrome outline
*Black letterw/ chrome outline

So give me your opinions. If you have other ideas feel free to post. I still need opinions on what to do with the transome and Sportstar decal on the back.

If you can keep decal all in the blue portion, I like the white lettering with black outline the best.

If the decal goes down into the white some, I'm wondering if the Black lettering with chrome outilne will show up better.

Overall, I think I prefer the white lettering with black, it just looks so clean and classy

SouthWaker:

If I understand what you are suggesting it might look something like this - in the blue gelcoat?

on the transition between the two?

or below the blue gelcoat? This one might be below the waterline though.

There are also some pictures of your boats sister ships in this thread (http://www.tmcowners.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=14622)that might be of interest to you.

And some pcitures of some "makeovers" in this thread (http://www.tmcowners.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=12441&page=2) (see post #14).

Hope some of this helps.

The last one is right at the waterline. I like it in the blue.

Font is Bookman Old Style (bold/italic). Star is found in "symbols" under Bookman Old Style in pretty much any word processor (also bold/italic).

Thanks guys and keep the comments coming. I am actually leaning towards the white letter. Now if I can just figure out how to put the thing. To me it looks best centered on any boat in general, but my paint scheme my change that.

Any suggestions on the Sportstar decal? Leave it maybe, take it off, get domenumbers.com to make me one in the MC font........

I would but the Mastercraft in white letters in the blue a little further back than those above. Probably just slightl forward from centered above the wheel on the trailer. Take off the Sportstar lettering and put the traditional MC World Record Skiboat on the transom.

I do like Easties retro look though. Kind of cool on the Sportstar gel scheme.

Instead of Sportstar you could put "Sportstar and Stripes"

OK here is my rendition. Take off the Sportstar and just put a single star on the back.

Or ... you could be the only guy who has a boat that says "Bad Mutha F**ka" on it.

You'll always know which one is yours that way.

BrianM, could you shop one with that same horizontal alignment, but move it with the paint line going through the center of the decal and then one below the paint line? Like was done on with the first few shops on the first page. You are placing it where I had planned.

I am partial to the stars and stripes motif with the retro lettering. looks nicer than the block letters

I'll cast a vote for the BrianM "here you go" white on blue (post #21).

are you saying you want to put a sticker across the windshield? I actually did that with my stars and stipes and it looks very sharp. the decal was from mastercraft (1 of 2 left) and made for a stars and stipes. In my opinion if you think it looks good, go for it. why not its your boat, make it alittle personalized!

Here's one of my ideas, the red area could be blue too.
