I've got a torn edge on a prop, and was wondering if it was fixable.....
1/4 to 1/2 inch

just figuring they'd reduduce the overall size of the prop to get the tear out:confused:

I'll get a pic, once I find some batteries:rant:

Send the prop in and I'll take a look at it. We will not do a "cut and cup" job.

When we sent my father in law's "torn prop" to OJ, the answer was that it was not fixable, but sounds like a case by case scenario. The "tear" on his prop was very small, too.

It really depends on where the damage is to the propeller if it can be repaired or not. If the propeller is torn or material is missing from the cup area, it makes it difficult to repair due to cupping the area that has been welded. The weld will crack when it is cupped. I see a lot of repaired props come through that have been "cut and cupped" when that type of damage occurs. We will not do that type of repair.

Eric, if I recall, the nick, tear, was right on the end of the blade in my father in law's case. At any rate, he has really been enjoying the XMP he replaced it with.

Glad to hear the XMP is working well. Now if I could just get one on your boat. I was thinking you might try the 13 X 11.5.

Eric, I am trying to remember the two different props that you reccomend to me. I have a 04 x10 with the Predator. It is getting around to the time to think about getting a new prop.
