I've got 4 days in Knoxville in a couple days from now for a wedding. I know that MC is close-south to Vanore. I know a bunch of people here live around or have visited Knoxville. I've got a rental car- I want to have some fun- good restaraunts-neat things to see and do during my stay. Any suggestions?

PM back at you. I'm staying on a houseboat on a river. I don't know the name of the river or the location yet. I'm waiting to hear from family who have arranged lodging. We all like to get wet in lakes, rivers and oceans --thus, the houseboat.

Get a tour of the MC plant. It is really an interesting thing to see. Also really makes you want to buy a new boat.

Calhoun's on the River. Get the ribs. They are world class.

If that Calhouns is the same as the Calhouns in Nashville then those ribs are great. Houseboat rented out of sequoya marina-norris lake-anderson TN. I need a friendly country music tavern in Knoxville.

I am not sure if it is still there or not but Cotton Eyed Joes is off of I-75/40. Not too many Country music taverns in Knoxville from what I remember, but it has been about 7 years since I lived there.

If you get a chance, eat at Charlie Peppers (either on the strip close to campus or across from West Town Mall).

Knoxville is nice if you like pale orange.

And I do...I like it alot.

If you want some pretty cool bars head to Old Town.

Remember this is a really big College Town.

Depends on how far you want to drive and generally what you want to do.

Any suggestions? The MC Plant is roughly an hour away, if you haven't been go when their working so you can take a tour.

I would say 4 days on any of the lakes or 4 days in the mountains.

just saw on the food channel's Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives

this drive-in Italian place (Pizza Palace) that's been open since 1961......

the spaghetti's meat sauce looked purty darned good (HOMEMADE TOP ROUND cut and ground on site for the sauce)

hard wired telephones instead of intercom speakers.

pizzas looked REALLY good!
