How does the boat act with the wrong gap on the spark plugs? Vibrations? Misfire? Backfire? Just curious.

JimN or another engine gooru will probably have a better answer. I would expect some misfire if the plugs are gapped wrong, depending upon how far off they are. Have you looked at the plugs? Do they show signs of any kind of wear?

When I pulled the plugs they were white

Here is some useful info concerning spark plugs. I will post up some pictures of my plugs, pre-tuning.

I put about 10 hours on these plugs.

That little guy second from the right on the bottom picture. The electrode was just blown / melted off. It runs much better now after being tuned. The next big project is heads or a complete rebuild, but she still runs like a champ.

I'd say blown headgasket on the side the bottom picture came from.

You sure that isn't 10 YEARS???!!!! Ouch...

+++Typically+++ if you're in the ballpark, your motor will run OK (unlike the motor the above pictured plugs came from) You want the plugs gapped correctly so you get the most efficient burn/combustion you can get

JKTX21, Is your timing set correctly...detonation can ruin a plug (or worse)
