Some people say the two happiest days of a boat owner's life are: the day he buys his boat; and the day he sells it.

Sold my boat. I'm not feeling very happy today.

She's going to a good home, I'm happy to say. The new owners wanted it to teach their 8 year old daughter how to ski. He heard my boat was for sale while they were at Cory Pickos' ski school. I wish I had parents like that.

But you are getting a new one, right?

I was in between boats for three weeks one time and it was really rough, just knowing I couldn't go to the lake if I wanted to.

Yes. If everything goes according to plan, the pain will disappear real quick when I get my new boat this weekend!

How do you like that LQ9? :)

Ahh, but if your getting a new one I suppose the pain will dull soon!

All that hard work down the drain.... Just kidding, I'm sure your resale went way up!

You are going to have a hard time merging with any authority from the closing lane without a trailer! (Don't think I forgot!)

What is your new boat going to be?

It's odd. I've never been attached to any of my cars as i bought/sold/traded. When I sold my boat, I was sad to see it go even though I had one 12model years newer already in the garage next to it.

Wow Shep! Congrats! Not sure I could part with my boat if I could make mine look like yours. I've watched all your threads with great respect for what you did to that boat. I wish I had the time for mine. Someday I will. A new MC will sure ease that pain quite a bit though!

Ah yes Shep, know the feeling.
Went to a good home etc., etc,...

Glad to hear you are getting another...

Yes. I remember that feelings when I bought my first 1988 MC ProStar 190. I was so happy. Then I had to sell my boat to move from Indpls to Atlanta. The first person looked at my boat, bought it immediately. I was so sad because I haven't process my thoughts about letting it go. This guy bought it and took it home. I was watching it go away and was in tears. Just exactly what you experienced in the pictures. After moving to Atlanta, I searched so hard to find the right boat. Now I'm a proud owner of 1995 MC ProStar 190 Sammy Duvall with metalflakes on it. Now I can't imagine selling my boat..... I'm so attached to my boat now. What is your next boat ?

I'm hoping to replace her with this one on Friday: http://www.tmcowners.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=15668

Yeah, I know... after all that work? But the restoration project itself was fun and I got some satisfaction knowing I saved that boat from the grave. Plus, after all that work, I figured I deserved that new boat! :D

Shep,

I understand your sadness, but I KNOW you'll be over it come Friday. I've been between boats since Feb., and it is sort of a strange feeling. Fortunately  We have only had a couple of good days where I would have used the boat this Spring.

The LQ9 is great. Runs really smooth and has a nice sound too. Although, I could definitely see myself with more power...an L-18 is going into the next one.

Thanks John. It didn't occur to me until after that you probably wanted to ski behind your own boat. Guess I should have offered to drive for you. Hope you get to try her out soon. I'm sure she'll ski as great as she loooks!

Thanks, but I can ski behind my boat anytime. I may never get a chance to ski behind yours again. I will probably go behind mine for the first time tomorrow. I know the water will be a bit colder than in NC, though. And I don't have any cold water gear yet.

I am jealous Shep, this is an absolute Beaut. I really like the tandem trailer wheels, fenders and everything about your rig, way cool to me.. Is that rust on the fender well of the tow vechicle?;)

This one was taken during CSM. Best pic of the platform I have. Fiberglass platform with inlaid teak.

It would be awesome to see 2 (or more) of these boats rafted up together or running side by side. Maybe at a future Southern/Gulf Coast reunion...? I'd love to see that beast you have under the motor cover too.

Hopefully I can make an event like that. I would love to see more than one of these boats at a time also. One of my real good friends I went to school with bought the protournament boat that MasterCraft S/C for Keith St.Onge. He also wants to make one of these events.

Congrats on the new 35th! I still have some "35th" stuff in the attic if your interested. Namely the 35th spare prop with puller and custom bag and 35th cover....however the cover has the tower holes...Good luck, she is a beaut! My profile still has pics of the original look sans tower and one after we had the mini tower installed. Lots of grief given about the towers, we loved the mini-tower for skis, boards, speakers and the bimini..
