Hey guys (and gals) -

I was poking around my 2002 X30 this weekend and have a few questions regarding the factory stereo system. I have the Clarion XDM1 head unit along with 4 tower Clarion tower speakers and 4 cockpit speakers. I believe they are the CM1632 model. My question revolves around the amps. The boat has two amps, both are Clarion. One is a APX400.4M and the other is a APA4204. Can someone tell me what type of amps these are? i.e. 2, 3, 4 channel? Which one runs the sub and which one runs the other speakers? My next action is to trace the wires, but there are a lot of them.

Thanks.

The APX400.4M and APA4204 are 2, 3, or 4 channel.
This is info on the APA4204
main features:
-Bridgeable for 2, 3 or 4 channel operation
-Continuous output: (2x50W + 130W), (4x50W) or (2x130W)
-Stable down to 1ohm loads
-Maximum power output 360W (4x90W into 4ohms)
-Variable low-pass filter (50 - 200 Hz)
-Variable high-pass filter (50 -200 Hz)
-Fixed frequency bass extender (40Hz)
-Input gain control (200mV - 5V)
-Two channel non-fader pre-out
-Protection circuits for overheating, DC voltage fluctuation and speaker lead short-circuit

Not sure which one powers which speakers. You may be able to take the speaker wires off and use a 9V battery to see which speakers are powered by which amp. Just touch the positive and negative battery posts to the speaker wire in question. You will not have to trace the wires throughout the boat.
