View Full Version : Maristar 225 Depth Finder Problems

I have a '98 Maristar 225 (recent purchase) and the depth finder displace comes and goes.

When it's not reading, it displays ---- across it.

Is this likely an electrical short or something else?

I've got the same boat, same problem....giving you a bump to see if anybody has got a suggestion as mine doesn't work very well either.

On mine, it was just the transducer seperating from the epoxy that attaches it to the hull. Look for a 2-3" tall hockey puck on the inside of the hull back under the engine; it'll have a wire coming out of the center of it, and it'll be the only thing that looks like that back there. Mine pulled right out of the epoxy, and 30 seconds with a dull chisel and a hammer got rid of the old epoxy.

10 minutes with Google and "Depthfinder epoxy" or "transducer epoxy" will get lots of hits. Look for more authoritative ones, like from Lowrance or Humminbird. It's not a big deal.
