View Full Version : Attaching Boom to Tapered Pole

I am trying to figure out the best way to attach my old straight barefoot boom to my 98 x-star. The ski pole is tapered, and therefore, the barefoot clamp does not attach tightly. Suggestions?

An quick adjustable clamp could be your ticket, if your pole is not tapered all the way. You could clamp it in the straight section and the area were the boom attaches will be at the tapered height.

That clamp looks like the perfect solution. Where did you puchase it from? Does it have a specific name/model? Thanks again!

I do not remember who I bought it from. ebay purchase.
I have seen them at Barts website I think for around $90.
Boom Height Adjuster
I did not like the way the contour boom fit my boat with the Safe-T-Top.
I cut the end off and remachined it to fit like I wanted it to. So do not let anyone tell you that you cannot use whatever type boom you have with the attachment. It just might take a little bit of modifying.
