View Full Version : 1993 PS190 Smoke question

This weekend when we were waterskiing, I noticed some kind of white smoke which was coming out from the exhaust flaps (under the swim platform)....

This was everytime we shutdown a warmed engine for a while (skier preparation) and crank it when the skier was ready to go.

Then smoke disappeared after 10 Sec...when engine getting close to 2000 rpm.

Is this caused by the difference of temperature between the lake and the engine exhaust/water mixture ?

I have checked the oil dipstick and didn't noticed any water in the oil.
Oil and plugs have been changed for the spring maintenance.

Carb (Holley 4160) is new since last year.

Just curious if this is normal and if you have ever noticed this.
Many thanks for your replies.

Sounds like just a litte steam. If the water temperature is cool and conditions are right this will happen. Sounds normal to me.

This doesn't sound like a problem......it is a pretty normal thing to see particularly if the air temp is on the cool side.
