Does anyone have or know the best place to get new leave springs for a 1992 single axle MC trailer? The trailer is the stock unit which came with a 1992 Prostar 190. The leave spring on the driver side of the boat gave way on the way to Lake Powell.

Not to threadjack, but when I was out in Park City skiing this past winter I saw an MC sticker on the back of an SUV, that or a truck with a cap. Was that you?

Starting with a MasterCraft dealer, Northern Tool, Dorsey Trailers, Champion Trailer, anyone who deals in trailers have access to spring manufacturers for replacement parts. They will need the measurements and the number of leafs and probably can help.

I highly recomend getting some convex leaf springs with the same load weight as the stock flat springs. It will spare you a lot of wincing, and leave a little more steel on your prop guard. I know Northern Tool Carries them.

found my truck pro receipt......
5/25/05

double eye leaf spring part # QU4342-15 @ $29.09 each
I bought two = $58.18

4 shackle bolts part # QU4101-5 @ $1.39 each = $5.56
4 9/16 nuts @ .59 cents each = $2.36

total after tax $72.22

I called truck Pro since they don't cover Utah..... they're supposed to call me back to see if we can cross reference the spring number for someone near you.

(these spring parts were direct replacements for my 1991 PS 190 trailer) NOT convexed.

spoke to truck pro....
the spring doesn't cross over, but here are the specs for that spring

27 inch center to center of eyes
1 3/4 inch wide spring
4 leaves
1500 pound rating per spring

the guy mentioned if you're near a town of any size to speak of, you should be able to get them from there.......

typical spring.....
truck pro is Fort Smith Arkansas has a dozen on the shelf.

Northern Hydraulic and Tractor Supply should have them on the shelf in their stores.

I had a '92 PS 190, but it was not a Mastercraft trailer. I had one of the spring break on a rode trip last summer. I was luckily about 12 miles from the next town, which had an Orschlein's. I would try there first. Tractor Supply stores would have them. Good luck.

This thread has been increadibly helpfull. Thanks to everyone who posted, and especially to Milkmania! That was the perfect info I needed to get the proper springs locally. Thanks again.

(BTW, for anyone wondering, it's my trailer that broke, and parkcityeric is a friend of mine.) :)
