I am trying to make some show skis, but do not have an existing one for a pattern. I know they are 8.5" wide, and 68" - 74" long. The dimmension I do not know is the thickness. I would like to know how thick they are, so I can plain them as thin as possible before attempting to bend the wood. If anyone has access to a show ski and can measure the thickness, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks

I just measured my daughters swivel board. It is 3/4" thick. However most of them are made by laminating 3 or 4 layers together. It is easier to bend them and it will make them stronger.

Just curious.I never saw a swivel show ski.Is the entire binding turning 360 on the ski? Any fins?

Andre, you guessed correctly, The binding is designed to pivot either 180 or 360 dependingh on how the skier set it. The skis are wide boards and have two long and shallow fins. It is practice by girls mostly. Try holding a rope tied to a door handle and pivot 360 degrees while standing with ond foot on a baskest ball.

Thanks for the information. I thought they were probably 3/4" thick, but I have some old wooden skis that are only 5/8" thick, so I wanted to check.
