Last night after unhitching I pulled away from the boat without removing the surge brake breakaway cable from the truck. Yeah I know what you are thinking......I was thinking it too.
It straightened out the S hook before it let go so I know it would have been hard enough to engage the brakes. My question is what actually happens when that cable is pulled. Does something have to be reset? It's a 94 model trailer if that matters.

I have always wondered about this - been close to doing it myself!!

well, ive talked to MC once about it because I thought I had done the same thing. Only I had a different problem. On your trailer there should be a clip in the tongue somewhere that you pull to reset it. Dont ask me more than that about it. All I know is that there is a clip or lever you can pull on the older trailers. Hope that helps
