View Full Version : Trailer Project

I finished my winter project and thought I would share some pictures of the process.
The trailer frame, axle, and springs were powdercoated.

The fenders needed some minor repairs, and I reinforced them with additional fiberglass mat and resin. I know I cannot keep everyone from stepping on them, so I am trying to prevent some future damage.

Everything else was replaced; bearings, seals, bunks, sidemarker lights (chrome bezels), jack, winch strap, etc.

I want to put a spare tire mount on, but I am afraid of hitting the tire when I load and unload the boat. Any suggestions for this style of trailer?

Very nice! What year is it? I have been looking to do something similar to my trailer as I have the same color scheme on my '82. I still can't decide if I should do the trailer frame in blue or the off white. Are the fenders new gelcoat or paint?

Great job!

Outstanding job! Maybe you should have fashioned a spare tire bracket that would not have interfered with the boat prior to rebuilding.

Great Job!!! Metal Flake matches real well. Did you use LED lights?

Thanks for all the compliments.

SBUELL: The boat is an '83

The fenders are actually paint, not gel coat. House of Kolor has a blue metal flake that is a close as I could find. I am sure someone with Gel Coating capabilities could be better, but I stuck with what I know.

I did not go with LED lights. I found the sidemarkers with chrome bezels and really liked those.

As far as the spare tire bracket, I think what I have will work, I am just hesitant. I have seen guys with them before. It just looked close when I had it on.

On our '89 the tire is 3" from the hull with the boat on the trailer and we have never had any hitting issues. Hope you work something out.

Saweet, nice metallic fenders. Makes the boat jealous I am sure.
