Was going to go out today for the first time this year only to find out that there is no wake allowed on the lake right now. It is just up too high after all the rain that we had. Looks like if I really want to go I'm heading to PA

I wish we had some of your water where I ski we can't even get our MC in at the landing. It's been that way since 1999.

Must be a WI thing... we have the same trouble if we don't get rain for while.

I feel for you, the lake we ski on is connected to lake michigan with a hydro electric dam, constant water levels.

The lake has a dam, I dont know why they wont open it.

In Madison the first year I owned my first MC they closed all of the launches and the lakes were slow no wake every where. They closed in the middle of May and didn't reopen until August. It forced us to find a new lake to ski on. I bought a book of fishing maps and found a lake that we eventually ended up buying a cabin on two years ago. If they had not closed the lakes we would never have found the lake we ski on now. The lake we ski on now is unbeliveable for skiing. We can ski anytime on weekends and never have to worry about boat traffic.

I don't think I have to worry too much about it. The lake we ski on is not a very good lake for your average boater. It averages about 4-5 ft deep and is solid weeds from the shore to the edge of the river channel in the middle of the lake. There is an opening in the channel free from weeds that is about a 1/2 mile wide that we use to ski in.

Although I still do try and keep it a secret for the most part as I don't want it to turn into wallyville!

Often they cannot "open" the dam since it might flood downstream areas severly, since we open onto lake Michigan, there is no issue with the amount of water.

No I wasn't. I worked on it yesterday and took it out to Blue Marsh for a shake down run this afternoon.

Dave, you found any resources yet for water temps on Hopat? Bordentown jsut hit 50 so were getting close. and with todays warm temps it should help things along nicely. KG

Nothing other than asking others that have been there. Waiting for a guy that I work with to come in so i can ask him the temps. He goes fishing there everyday.
