I ordered the new truck last week. 2014 Ram 1500 Laramie Limited. I got the email today saying it has been scheduled for production. It's going to be a long 6-8 weeks.

my new tow rig: 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT 5.3L with 3.42 rear. Pulls the X2 with ease. The new 5.3 is muuuch improved. So far I am averaging 17 mpg over 1400 miles with 90% city driving.

http://i751.photobucket.com/albums/xx154/bamabonners/truck/truck_zps67d4ad34.jpg

Forgot to mention, love the truck. That colour was on the top of my list but went with silver to match the new boat. Talking to other guys I work with that have had their 2014's for a little while now and they all agree they are getting better mileage than their old GMs.

I haven't had a ton of problems with my 2003 Sierra Denali, but it's had it's moments. I drove the new 5.3L Sierra, but couldn't find a 6.2L to drive that wasn't 2.5 hours away. I spent time test driving the new 2014s from all the manufacturers and I was very impressed by all of them. Some very nice choices out there right now. Keep your fingers crossed for me since you put the jinx on ;)

I did order it with the 3.92 rear end so it should tow pretty well.

3.92??? Holy crap. Didnt know you could get those from the factory. What kind of mileage is expected from that?

So far I've heard everything from 15 to 21 mpg. Either way it's an improvement over the 13.5 that I've averaged over the last 10+ years. The Hemi gets the 3.21 and the eco diesel gets the 3.55 stock. You can add the 3.92 to either.

Just swap in a Duramax into the burb. That would be a sweet setup!!

Why are selling your Duramax truck?

It's a possibility that might happen....... I'll be keeping an eye out for a wrecked dmax. Trying to sell my truck to get out of debt pretty much. And so I can upgrade boats :)

Well your dmax is setup perfectly and what I would love to have on mine. I would think it would sell fast, it sure would out here.

If you find a dmax engine for the burb keep us all in the loop with the project. It would be fun to watch the conversion.

Yea I finally get it set up how I like it and decide to sell it. Believe it or not I've been trying to sell it for probably 3 months and only had 2 people act like they want to buy it. Where you located? Maybe I need to bring it out there and sell it.

If I decide to do a dmax swap I'll defiantly have it posted in a few places. The swaps into old stuff seems to be getting more popular. If I did it I would have to find a wrecked truck, I'd like to scab the interior and all, but that'll have to wait for now.

If you ever have any questions on your dmax let me know, I build a few of em around here. Not saying I know everything, but I know more than I did when I started.

Being a woman and a licensed driver, I have reason to be interested in what kinds of stereotypes other drivers possess of female drivers. The Associated Press reports that a new study by the University of Michigan's Transportation Research Bureau has found that the wave has turned. Today, there are more women with a driver's license than there are men. Have you been looking to sell or purchase a used or new 2010 Ford Pickup Ranger Spokane WA? If this seems like you, do yourself a favor and check out Ford Spokane WA (http://www.cardealexpert.com/dealer/80570/WA-Spokane-Gus-Johnson-Ford).

???? How does anyone purchase a "new" 2010 Ford??
And what's the connection between female drivers and rig photos?
Are you perhaps on the wrong thread?

Guys its a 2011 XR6Turbo. These are what as tradies drive to work in. 4,0litre double over hed cam 24 valve intercooled. 6 speed manual, limited slip diff. 270 kilowatts and 550 nm of torque from the factory. Mines been SCT flash tuned to 315 kilowatts (410 HP). its bucket loads of fun to drive. Basically I can go down the road in 3rd gear bury my foot through the fire wall kick the clutch and it will spin the rear tyres all the way to 4th, Its fun trying to pull the boat up the ramp in the rain as you can imagine. Colour is colour I designed. Under strong lights its actually pink. during the day it deep maroon with a subtle old metal flake clear with fairly dark tinted windows. Ill hook it to the boat and send through some photos.

This link shows you what these engines and gearboxs are capable of

Had to pick up the boat today and take it to the dealer for some pre-season maintenance and to fix some gel coat scratches. This was the first time I've towed this baby. The dealership delivered it to the marina last spring and it stayed there all summer and winter (in storage).

I was a little concerned about how my Tundra would do towing it. It's got the 5.8L and tow package and is rated over 10,000 pounds. The boat is 5,550 plus the trailer. No problems there. But I was worried it might not have enough traction, especially if the tires got wet, to pull it up the ramp. But it did great.

Now the question is whether to have the dealer install a Wetsounds 420EQ while they have it in the shop. Hmm....

It's a 2007 Acura MDX, common in the northwest. It towed great but when it's time to replace it we'll get something with a turbo diesel I think. Likely a Toureg or Grand Cherokee or something. The MDX has JUST enough room when we go camping and have the box on top though. Anything smaller would not work. I don't really want a Tahoe or similar but we'll see what happens when it's replacement time.

Just picked up (a new to me) 2002 gmc sierra 2500 hd with a 8.1 liter (496 cubic inch) motor. WHAT A BEAST. Should tow my MC and travel trailer but probably won't pass up any gas stations. It spent all of its life in texas, that's what you look for in a vehicle for Michigan winters. Hope I can keep it in as great Condition.

If you want power you got to pay to play. Better to be overpowered and spend a little gas, or diesel money than to be underpowered. Lots of folks look only to mileage and end up with inferior vehicles, can't tow the boat for beans, but they get great mileage! That won't be one of your problems, you will be a happy camper. Nice truck!

Cruiser, I've had the same 8.1 Allison combo since 03. It was built to tow and drink gas. It does both well. 10 mpg loaded any speed 11 mpg unloaded driving normal. It has handled 16,000 #s like a champ in the past. Suspension is good too never wished I bought a dually. Watch out for the rusty brake lines, if they haven't been replaced that is a special kind of nervous if they pop with a load on.

Added a 2" OME Lift, powdercoated the wheels gloss black and installed new Goodyear DuraTracs in 285/65/18. Also just added an Andersen Rapid Hitch with greaseless balls in a 2" & 2 5/16" combination for the two different trailers I pull...

Pretty much spot on there bud. Chevy USA did have it in the pipeline to be released as a new age el camino. It's a rocket ship. I've done a fair few mods to it. Running 516rwhp. Will be sad to see it go.

Hmm....

That looks like a shop on Smith Lake. That where you usually boat?

Good looking truck. I picked up my Ram 1500 5.7 a week ago, but didn't get a picture before it got dirty. My only complaints are the headrest having a fixed tilt, the rear headrests being ginormous blocking visibility and the rear doors not unlocking when putting the truck in park.

I'm a Dodge guy, still drive my Dads old '93 and il be the first to admitn Rams used to be the red headed step child behind all the others in most all variables other than power. That's not true any more, you get a more truck for a better deal no days. Just my couple cents.

Yes - it's a Boatmate

European trailers are almost all bare galvanised metal with steel wheels. They all high axles (the beam from wheel to wheel is from the wheel center) so boat sits a lot higher.

The American trailers look a lot better IMHO

Just got some yellow MasterCraft stickers to put on it :)

5000 lbs. (I've research this.) The Explorer "Sport" 4 wheeldrive, with V-6 "EcoBoost", is bad
arse!

Same horsepower and torque, as 2014 Durango "hemi", couple hundred lbs lighter.

Good for you. Operating your own business has a lot of benefits and rewards, though you end up with a jerk for a boss and work way more hours than you ever thought you would.

TRUTH!!! Pete speaks the truth. :D I went from a good job with benefits working 40 hrs a week to starting my own company in 2005, working 80+ hours a week, no benefits and after expenses, a little more pay. But I love it!
