Nice 88 prostar 200! Don't see many of those, got any more pics?
Funny how they used the 86 hull with 87-88 gelcoat scheme.
Oh, and welcome to teamtalk!

Researching the 200 I found the 87 and 88 had the the same deck as the 86 Inboards then they changed to the 87 ProStar deck with the 89 models. It only needed some detailing when I bought it last Thanksgiving. Original interior and carpet. The Motor is a 91 and runs nice and strong.

Here's some more pics:

Thanks for all the complements and warm welcome. My 11 yr old son (Standing on rear bumper of the Suburban) is bugging the heck out of me to get him a wetsuit so he can ski now. 15 yr old son is being more patient.

This is my first boat and I've always wanted a MasterCraft.

All it needs is a bed liner.. Possibly a chip, it's governor stops it at 98 and it's still not even trying.

The back seats are bench, not sure if GMC offers the two captains.. But yeah there's plenty of room back there, I had 5 adults in it last weekend and my buddies were telling me how much more comfortable it was than my old King Ranch.

I have had my Denali HD for a little over a year now, and I have about 35k miles on it. No problems at all, so far. Mine has been chipped since new, and also has the DEF and DPF systems removed. It is an animal!

I get about 21mpg empty, and about 15-16mpg towing my X25 or my dump trailer. You are going to love that thing!

Has anyone tow'd with a 2010-2012 X5?

Depending on the weight of the trailer, which mc does not list, and all your gear, fuel etc. the x25 weighs 4370 lbs you might be at the max capacity limit with the new X5, it has a tow capacity of 6000 lbs

I haven't done much towing with it yet as its a relatively new vehicle to me. It was purchased to tow the boat. I had a friend of mine go with me to pick up the boat with his truck as I wasn't able to transfer the registration in time to take the Yukon.

I took the boat for the first tow yesterday to get air in the trailer tires, take a test drive with it and get a little reversing practice in at an empty parking lot and all went smoothly with it. Didn't even feel like there was anything back there going down the road. Made a test panic stop and it seemed a little heavier, but I think this will be a great tow rig for me.

SammyD, I was looking primarily for a short wheelbase, but came across this XL and it was just the right vehicle. Everything else about it fit my needs and wants perfectly so I went with it and have been really happy so far. At this point after having it for almost 2 months, I think I will definitely prefer the XL for the storage capacity behind the third row seat when having the vehicle filled with people.

my ex wife has the xl and she loves it minus the obvious manuvering differences in a parking lot etc. I'd like to have the 3rd row in permanently now and not have the issue of losing any bit of storage. The ride is great in the nali but the gas mileage gets alil old. I drive 80 miles+ a day in just regular commute and the 13.5mpg overall gets annoying. Other than that the 6.0 does a fantastic job on yanking a few thousand lbs around. You'll enjoy the awd too

The ride is awesome, nice and comfortable with all the amenities (just wish I had the sunroof) and the AWD is great in the snow (thankfully we have only had one day I have had to drive in the snow due to this mild winter, but the truck did just fine in 8+" of snow).

While the 12-16mpg range will get old, I have another vehicle for my commuting that does 25-30mpg, so the Denali will really only be used for towing the boat around and people hauling when necessary. It will be used 100% for play, not commuting work. My commute is 5 miles up the road and 5 miles home, so even if I have to drive it for a week if the other car is put up for a repair or two, really no biggie. I think an 80 mile commute each day and that being the vehicle to do it in, I wouldn't own it unless someone else was subsidizing my gas costs...:twocents:

The 6.0L was really the main reason why I bought it. One of my stipulations for a tow vehicle was a GM half-ton vehicle with the LQ4/LQ9. It really is such a great motor and makes some great power and torque right out of the box. Its amazing how it makes that 6500 lb truck with AWD move. Even with 3500 lbs more behind me yesterday, it pulled it without sweat. I've seen some V6 trucks struggle with 3500 lbs, so it will be nice to never have to worry about the weight of what I want to pull around behind the truck.

Be careful running those underwater LEDs when the boat is not in water. I think it was my dealer that told me they were not designed for such. i.e. get too hot when out of the water.

Yup... the MC Owners manual contains a warning about that. They can burn out due to the heat build up as they were not designed to run out of water.

Sorry don't own a gas station. Just eat it as an expense.. ha.. Its riding low because the Raptor has such soft suspension in the rear (11 inches of travel) therefore it does not take much to sink her down...Also had a large generator in the back of the truck..also here's a pick of the X25 and another CSX we picked up...

F150 KR 4X4 hauling......

Well I hauled 70 40# sacks of top soil for a buddy the other night and it did great.

2 days later and me telling him it cheaper to but sand or dirt by the yard we went and bought 1 yard of sand for his kids sand box he built instead of sacks of sand.

Later that day I hauled 1 pallet of Bermuda grass for his lawn.

I'm very happy that I hauled all of those items above in the bed of my truck. I'd have no second thoughts in hauling a 11,000# trailer or heaver.

I'll try to find pics I took of my truck loaded down if anyone is interested. It's 100% factory and no air bags.

Fix it, its simple now that you have a Mastercraft. Put a new Mastercraft sticker in the back window. If you don't have one send me your address. I'll put some Mastercraft swag in the mail for ya.

I only tow the MC about 100 miles a year. It tows great and the trans works great. I purchased the boat in Texas and towed it home 1200 miles with a 2004 Envoy. It worked ok but wow did it use the gas! The 4 runner performs much better. You will not be unhappy.

Cool. My ski lake is only 12 min. from my house, so most of the time I just leave her hitched to a 1977 Chevy 3/4 ton. I have another boat, not heavy Four Winns 190 Horizon we pull to other lakes including Powell. We traded in a v-8 to buy the 4 Runner and the 6 concerns me a bit, but it's rated for it so "off we go". Thanks Radar. We love it so far, but for 40G, we better.

the rig is my solution for now, its a 2005 Passat 2,5 TDI 4Motion which can tow up to 2200kg (4800lbs+). It will be replaced by an Amarok that's coming around June/July and will be able to tow 3200kg (7000lbs+).
By the way my rig probably boosts some of the best mileages around here ...around 20-25mpg towing :D

Your boat/trailer is well over 4800 lbs. so I'd say you're beyond the towing limits of that vehicle. I know many state troopers here would pull you over in a hurry. Be careful.

Looks Great LaRue! I applaud you for getting a white Tow Vehicle to match your Maristar. You must have really put some elbow grease in there. Did you use any special process or products?

The scheme looks great. I went with the captian America Look...! well that wasn't the plan, but...

One thing i did notice, is that your not running any Boat Tie Downs in the rear. I have used these, and feel they are plenty strong to keep the rear of the boat on the trailer.

Here are some from MasterCraft by Design (http://www.mastercraftbydesign.com/index_1242.asp)

i used Adams Polishing products this year and the Porter Cable orbital.

Yea, i know i need to get tie downs. Currently there is nothing on the trailer for them to attach. In addition, the tie downs on the Maristar are very wide which makes it difficult to get a straight pull with a BoatBuckle. I will have to get to it this summer.

Do you have a photo of your tie down mounting set-up?

Thanks, the flap is home made out of a old truck bed mat cut down to desirable size and taped some holes in the aluminum angle to bolt mate to with some flat head screws. And cut out for the reese hitch to slide through. Very heavy, but keeps rocks from engraving the gel coat. Didn't have any $ in it thanks to a very handy Dad. I seen some flaps that go just behind the tires that mounts on the reese hitch for around $160 at Cabela's.

That looks like my old tractor...is there two holes in the break peddel on the left? Damn, that is how we did it too with the same tractor. Our tires were filled and G'pa put a hitch ball on the front to make it easier to back. Too funny!

Definitely not your old tractor. :) I get all the families old equipment, broken and I fix it. My grandfather bought that tractor new in '65. Been through Grandpa, my dad, my uncle and now me. Still amazes me what that little tractor can pull around.

Beautiful S&S! You have 4 boat guides on the trailer? Never saw that before, does it work well for loading?

Beautiful S&S! You have 4 boat guides on the trailer? Never saw that before, does it work well for loading?

Under those 4 guides are the posts for my single jet ski rack I "never" use. So, I have the rack stored and put guide poles to not scratch the boat. It does work well for loading when I need to get the trailer deep on a ramp. i do not run the risk of hitting my trailer fender with the bottom of the boat.

As far the the jet ski rack I did not design it. The previous owner I purchased the boat from years ago welded that up to go to Lake Havasu.

You can load and unload the jet ski with the boat on the trailer. Once off. it take two guys to lift the rack up and pin it up on the guides and then back the trailer deeper in the water to unload the boat.

Used it once like this. Only is a good option for a long trip for a far away lake.

5 Speed?!? That's a rare one, too! We almost got an X5 with the 4.4 but with less than 24 hours of ownership, the headlights went on and off on their own, engine almost stalled and rear heat seats came one and off on their own. All with 30,000 miles. Had flashbacks of being in the shop for electrical gremlins......so we returned it and got the Lexus 400h. Not nearly as exciting as the X5.

Nice setup and color combo.

Thanks!!! I got the X5 for a screaming deal "lease return" the dealer could not sell it because it was a stick. I laughed.
They let me take it for the weekend and all they did was copy my drivers license. I fell in love with it.

I now have 249,000 miles it.

That's awesome and what a deal! 249k......very nice. They sure drive nice but also handle decent too. And you can tow. Our 400h hybrid is quick in a straight line but don't ask it to take a corner....or tow anything. Maybe next time the X5 will be in our cards. But for some reason, I like the older style (yours). Also, no NAV on yours. Probably a sweet move. Their system was pretty old and non-intuitive (I'm not saying the Lexus is that much better either, but a little).

Yours is 4.4 correct? Not the 4.8 (or 4.6)?

Pretty sure a 5 speed manual in an X5 was only available when linked with the 3.0L I6.
Still, it's pretty rare to see a 5 speed manual in an X5 in the states.

The 3.0 stick has a 6500lb tow capacity.

And you got style points for your 11-year old, which isn't always bad. Stay cool for another year or so. I picked my 12-year old son up from middle school the other day in the Shelby and all his friends were yelling nice car----he gets in and looks at me and says "thanks dad, that always helps".....
