Hi, does anyone if this tower folds down for trailering? If so is it hard to get down and up again? Thanks, Brent

Is does not need to be folded to trailer.

NO, I'm told its more structurally stable when up.

As long as you don't have clearance issues (drive through food etc)

Up is probably best. Keeps it from banging around on the boat folded.

I never folded mine on my '03 230VRS. Leave it up and cover your speakers (bugs)

Hi, thanks for the response. However I am really looking to find "if" the tower can fold down? Is it possible? Thanks

yes it should fold down. But, according to mastercraft you should only fold them for storage. The tower should always be in the up position for trailering. And they are fairly easy to fold up and down if you are in the boat. It all depends how much crap you have on your tower ie: speakers, lights, etc.

bjm300zx:

From the picture below it would appear that the 2002 X-5 tower folds forward with the bottom portion of the rear tower legs being removable. On our 2001 X-5 the tower can fold forward or back, but it is a slightly different configuration (removable bolt with black knob at the base of each of the four tower legs).

For more information on the X-5 you might want to check out this (http://www.tmcowners.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=14622) thread.

Hope this helps.

Yes, it folds down. This is the same tower I had on my 02 X-10. It is pretty easy too. There are two screw nobs and then it hinges forward to rest on the bow. Like everyone else said, only do this to fit the boat in your garage...never tow like that. Hope this helps.
