I installed the noise reduction insulation under the floor boards in front of, and behind the motorbox in my '98 prostar. Unbelievable what a difference it made. There is noticeably less noise at 36 mph than there was at 20 before. The most time consuming step is taping the edges with the foil tape so the insulation doesn't get wet. Really makes me wonder why they don't do this at the factory.

Great idea. Did you take the floorboard out to do it? Assuming you did.

Yes, I had it out already as I was installing my new PerfectPass.

Thanks for the suggestion. Where did you get the insulation?

If he's trimming with foil tape, I'd guess it's the I/O noise reduction kit from overtons.

You guessed right - Overtons. Find a partner to split it with, you will use less than half of what comes in the kit. Be prepared to buy an extra roll of foil tape though.

Want to make your boat quiet on the inside.

I usually tell the wife to stop talking or cut down the volume on the stereo!

Unless you're talking about riding ... keep quiet so I can hear the engine in my real baby!
