Recently bought a 2002 310 TBI Mastercraft X-star. It just turned over 300 hours so I figured I would go and replace the spark plugs. First owner told me he never changed the plugs so I figured I would check a plug and just replace it with what is in there. The plug read AC 41-932 so I went to NAPA and picked up 8 for about $60. I found a couple posts on line that say the original plug for that motor is an MR43LTS. What's the scoop? Did my boat have the wrong plugs installed from the get go? Will the AC 41-932 be OK in my boat? Obviously they have been working for the first 300 hours? Any suggestions?

41-932 is the platinum version and should last much longer than 300 hours. MR43LTS will also work fine, but they are not platinum. I just changed my MR43LTS plugs at 400+ hours.

should the gap still be .045? Or do you use a different gap with the platinum? I thought I read .060 with platinum?

Your boat has VORTEC heads...Autolite 30s is all you need

The MR43LTS plugs get gapped at .045" and the platinum 41-932 plugs get gapped at .060". Either plug are OK in the engines with Vortec heads. The engines come to us from GM with the platinum plugs but the standard plugs work just fine and cost a lot less.

Just curious......what's the explanation for the difference in gapping between platinum and regular plugs?
