We just bought a new X1 and are really looking forward to wakesurfing, but we have no idea how to do the weight placement? Is every boat the same setup, or is there a certain setup that works best for the X1 hull? Thanks for all your help! (I'm not sure if this was the right section to post this in, so sorry if it isn't)

I have an '02 xstar, same hull as the x1. Our setup is a 750 in the back locker, 580 on the side seat, stock center ballast, 400 in the play pen on surf side and 400 lbs pop bags spread along the surf side. Makes a great surf wake!

Thanks, glad to hear the boat has the potential for a great surfing wake!

We set up my buddies with a 600 lb sac on the port side, 350 lb in the locker and all the people on the port side.

My buddies all ribbed me for bringing a surfer out but once they tried it they were like a kid in a candy store.

Is that with the factory ballast? I guess everyone pretty much surfs from the port side then? Now at least I have some idea how much weight to put down and where. Thanks!

The factory set up should work pretty good, but once you are hooked you'll be throwing in a little extra.

My buddies boat is a 2000 which didnt have rear tanks so we plumbed in fat sacs. The sacs are a little bigger than the tanks but at the end of the day it's pretty close.
