I have made a couple of them over the past two years. The latest one I used the 13_Pin_Cable (http://www.universal-radio.com/catalog/parts/dincable.html) and it made it much easier. The cable is at the bottom of the page at the previous link. They work better than everything else that I have tried. If you have any questions let me know.

Worked fine for me with the Ipod. But it uses the same input connector as the CD changer so you can't connect both. So I tossed it all.

Yeah, I just finished wiring mine up. I second what Andyg said, you should get the pre-wired cable end. I bought two of the solder connectors and messed them both up before just ordering the pre-wired cable.

Ya my first attempt was a failure as I melted the plastic housing with the soldering gun trying to solder wires onto those small terminals. Thankfully I ordered two 13 pin connectors. The second one I let my dad, Electrical Engineer, solder.

I ordered the cable as well, figuring it would be tough to solder the connector. I also ordered a marine headphone jack (http://www.audio-discounters.com/ip35wg.html) which can be applied with double sided tape. This will allow for easy removel in the future if needed (no holes drilled). I was going to use a switched socket and relay to trigger the aux, but decided that would be too complicated and will use a manual switch, at least for now. I'm glad to hear this hookup works.
